Objective:By comparing the efficacy of acupuncture combined with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF)technology and conventional acupuncture in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis, observe the effectiveness of acupuncture combined with facial PNF therapy, and provide exploration and research ideas for the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis combined with acupuncture therapy and rehabilitation. Methods:Sixty patients with peripheral facial paralysis who met the research criteria were randomly divided into treatment group(acupuncture combined with facial PNF treatment group)and control group(acupuncture group),with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine and conventional acupuncture(once a day, five times a week). The treatment group was treated with facial PNF technology(once a day, five times a week)on the basis of the control group. Before and after treatment, the House-Brackmann grading(H-B)score,the Sunnybrook facial grading system score and the Facial Disabled Index(FDI)score of the two groups were compared to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture combined with facial PNF therapy in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysisResults:1.During this study, all 60 patients included in the standard completed treatment. Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age, gender and other general information,H-B grading,Sunnybrook score and FDI score(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.After treatment, the H-B grading of both groups improved compared to before(P<0.05),and compared with the control group, the H-B grading of the treatment group showed more significant changes(P<0.05).3.After treatment, the Sunnybrook scores of both groups increased compared to before(P<0.05),and compared with the control group, the Sunnybrook scores of the treatment group increased more significantly(P<0.05).4.Facial Disabled Index(FDI)4.1 Facial Disability Index Physical Function(FDIP)After treatment, the FDIP score of both groups showed an upward trend(P<0.05),Compared with the control group, the increase in the treatment group was more significant, which could effectively improve the patients’ physical function and enhance their ability to live(P<0.05).4.2 Facial Disability Index Social Function(FDIS)After treatment, the FDIS scores of both groups showed a downward trend(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the FDIS scores of the treatment group decreased more significantly. It was better for relieving patients’ emotions, improving their social life ability and self-perception(P<0.05).5.Comparison of clinical efficacy: after treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33%,and the total effective rate of the control group was86.67%.After comparison,it was found that the total effective rate of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the clinical effect was better.6.There were no adverse reactions during the treatment in both groups. Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with facial PNF therapy can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of peripheral facial paralysis, and improve the facial nerve function and clinical symptoms of the affected side. After further comparative analysis,it was found that acupuncture combined with facial PNF therapy can improve physical function, reduce negative emotions in social interaction and self perception, and is of great significance in improving patients’ social life ability, alleviating their social interaction emotions and pressure, and improving their quality of life.In a 4-week clinical study,no adverse acupuncture reactions were found in the combination of acupuncture and facial PNF therapy. The therapeutic effect is reliable and worthy of clinical application and promotion. In the future, the treatment cycle can be appropriately extended,follow-up surveys can be increased, and the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with facial PNF therapy in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis can be systematically evaluated.
