| Objective:This paper aims to investigate and analyze the effect of Pregnancy Delivery Postpartum(PDP)contraceptive education model intervention on postpartum women’s contraceptive birth control, and to provide a theoretical basis for the development of postpartum contraceptive education and intervention services. Methods:Women who delivered live births in Northwest Women’s and Children’s Hospital from April 1,2021 to May 31,2021 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into control group(1134 cases)and intervention group(1119 cases)according to whether they participated in the PDP contraceptive education in our hospital. The questionnaires were filled out separately by telephone follow-up in June after delivery, and the questionnaire information was entered into the Epidata database.Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS 25.0 statistical software, and the measurement data were expressed as mean±standard deviation;the count data were expressed as rate(%),and the comparison between two groups was analyzed byχ~2-test,and when n<40 or T<1,Fisher’s exact probability method was used, and the difference was statistically significant at P<0.05;the Bonferroni method was used for the comparison between two groups.Results:1.The breastfeeding rates of<3 months in the control group and intervention group in this study were 9.88%and 5.81%,respectively.The breastfeeding rate for more than six months in the intervention group was 76.76%,which was higher than that of the control group(72.31%),and the difference was statistically significant.2.In the intervention group,25.46%of women resumed their sexual life within 3 months, which was lower than that of the control group(38.36%).The initiation rate within 3 months, first sexual intercourse contraceptive rate, and medium and high efficiency contraceptive use rate were 20.83%,94.09%,and 85.17%,respectively,compared with 18.96%,76.56%,and70.00%in the control group. The contraceptive rate of first-time sex and the use rate of medium and high-efficiency contraceptive measures for women who participated in 3 PDP contraceptive education were 97.31%and 88.38%,which were significantly higher than those of women who participated in 1 education(90.16%and 84.21%).The desired contraceptive methods were mainly condoms and high efficiency contraceptive methods, and the difference was statistically significant.3.This survey found that the incidence of unwanted pregnancy in the intervention group was 1.16%,which was lower than that in the control group(2.56%),and the difference was statistically significant. However, there was no statistical significance in the time of occurrence, cause and outcome of unwanted pregnancy.4.The survey of this study found that postpartum women generally lacked knowledge of contraception, and the pass rate of postpartum contraceptive knowledge in the intervention group(50.94%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(11.2%).The pass rate of contraceptive knowledge of women who participated in three contraceptive education(58.62%)was significantly higher than that of women who participated in one education(44.12),and the difference was statistically significant.5.In the intervention group and the control group,78.73%and 84.74%of the women, respectively, are looking forward to the most anticipated contraceptive education channel is the We Chat public account, and 95.8%and 93.3%of women, respectively, had the need for education, and thought that the reason for the unsatisfactory development of contraceptive education was mainly the insufficient publicity and attention.Conclusion:1.Postpartum women lack contraceptive knowledge and awareness of contraception.Repeated PDP postpartum education can effectively improve postpartum contraceptive knowledge, increase postpartum women’s breastfeeding rate, and resume sexual life in a timely manner.2.Postpartum women’s demand for medium and high-efficiency contraceptive measures has not been met.PDP education can effectively improve the postpartum contraceptive rate, enable contraceptive measures as soon as possible, and reduce the postpartum unwanted pregnancy rate and induced abortion rate.3.The main reason for the unsatisfactory implementation of contraceptive services was the lack of publicity and attention.Postpartum women have positive attitudes toward education. The expectant ways are various, and We Chat is the most anticipated education pathway, which provides reference information for clinical development of postpartum contraception education work. |
