Clinical Observation On The Axial Symptoms Of Unilateral Open-door Laminoplasty Induced By Acupuncture

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets and oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets alone in the treatment of Axial symptoms(AS)after single-door laminoplasty,and to compare and analyze the differences in related symptom scores,cervical range of motion and safety between the two treatment regimens.To provide an optimized treatment plan for patients with AS after single-door laminoplasty.Methods: A total of 52 patients with AS after single-door laminoplasty in the Department of Orthopedics,Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of TCM from September 2020 to December 2022 were collected.There were 26 cases in the treatment group(treated with acupuncture combined with oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets)and 26 cases in the control group(treated with oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets).The baseline data such as gender,age,Body mass index(BMI),operation time,hospitalization time,intraoperative blood loss,and neck brace wearing time of the two groups were recorded.Visual analogue scale(VAS),Tsuji score and Neck disability index(NDI)were evaluated and recorded before treatment,1 week after treatment,2 weeks after treatment and 3 months after treatment.At the same time,X-ray films of cervical hyperextension and hyperflexion position of the patients were collected before operation and at 3 months after operation to measure the cervical hyperextension Angle,cervical hyperflexion Angle,and Range of motio(ROM).The database was established and the data were processed by SPSS26.0.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:1.Baseline data: there was no significant difference in gender,age,BMI,operation time,hospitalization time,intraoperative blood loss,and neck care wearing time between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).2.Comparison of symptom scores: the VAS score and NDI index of the two groups at each follow-up time point after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the reduction of VAS score and NDI index in the treatment group was better than that in the control group at 2 weeks and3 months after treatment(P<0.05).The Tsuji scores of the two groups at each follow-up time point were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the improvement of Tsuji scores in the treatment group was better than that in the control group at 2 weeks and 3 months after treatment(P<0.05).3.Comparison of cervical range of motion: the cervical hyperextension Angle and cervical range of motion of the two groups at 3 months after operation were significantly lower than those before operation(P<0.05).The cervical hyperflexion Angle at 3 months after operation was higher than that before operation(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in cervical hyperextension Angle,cervical hyperflexion Angle,and cervical ROM between the two groups(P > 0.05).4.Safety analysis: during the treatment,the vital signs of patients in the two groups were stable,and the safety indicators were not significantly abnormal.Conclusions:1.Both acupuncture combined with oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets and oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets alone can relieve neck pain,stiffness and other discomfort in AS patients.2.Acupuncture combined with oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets in the treatment of AS can better relieve neck pain,stiffness and other discomfort of AS patients than oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets alone.3.single-door laminoplasty can reduce the patient’s cervical hyperextension Angle and cervical ROM,increase the cervical hyperflexion Angle,and affect the patient’s cervical hyperextension and flexion activities;4.It is not effective to improve the cervical flexion and extension activities of AS patients after single-door laminoplasty by acupuncture or oral Etodolac Sustained-Release Tablets.
