Objective:In this study, the imaging data of normal adults and patients with chronic frontal sinusitis were detected by head CT scans.Including the classification of the frontal sinus drainage channel;the occurrence rate of each air cell in the frontal sinus drainage channel, the rear group and the medial group;the volume opening ratio of the air cells in the anterior, posterior and medial groups of the frontal sinus drainage channel;the ratio of the diameter of the ethmoid vesicle to the frontal sinus ostium;the grading of the frontal sinus ostium.Statistical analysis of corresponding data.Compared the data from normal adults and patients with chronic frontal sinusitis.Connected chronic frontal sinusitis and the volume of each air chamber.Make the air room volume opening ratio an important indicator for evaluating the occurrence of chronic frontal sinusitis.Analysed the similarities and differences in anatomical structure between normal adults and patients with chronic frontal sinusitis, and provided data support and theoretical basis for exploring the predisposing factors of chronic frontal sinusitis.Materials and methods:This study collected patients who were admitted to former goerros mongolian autonomous county hospital from September 2020 to September 2021 and underwent head CT scans.Under the premise of the patient’s consent, the patients were divided into normal adult group and chronic frontal sinusitis group according to the clinical diagnosis of chronic frontal sinusitis.Referring to the inclusion and exclusion factors,a total of 120 cases with 240 sides in the normal adult group were selected, including 72 males with 144 sides and 48 females with 96 sides, with an average age of 47 years. In the chronic frontal sinusitis group, there were 78 patients with 135 sides, including 51 males with 93 sides and 27 females with 42 sides, with an average age of 43 years.Routine data collection was performed according to the operating procedures of the Imaging Department of former goerros mongolian autonomous county hospital imaging department operating specifications and the equipment requirements of Neu Viz 128 Jingrui CT machine.Upload the CT image data of the subjects to the equipment supporting workstation for data screening and processing. The frontal sinus and its surrounding bone tissue and air cells were reconstructed in 3D,and the data was modeled by the server’s own sequence.Results:1.The frontal sinus drainage channel is divided into pattern type, middle turbinate type, anterior skull base type and double wishbone type. The proportions in the normal adult group and chronic frontal sinusitis group were 53.9%,27.1%,15.4%,4.6%,and 30.4%,34.8%,28.1%,6.7%,respectively.2.The air cells in the anterior group of the frontal sinus drainage channel include the nasal mound cells, the supra mound cells and the supra mound frontal cells. The incidence rates in normal adult group and chronic frontal sinusitis group were 92.9%,31.7%,22.1% and 88.1%,54.1% 42.9%.3.The air chambers in the posterior group of the frontal sinus drainage channel include the supraethmoidal air chambers, the supraethmoidal air chambers, and the supraorbital air chambers. The incidence rates in normal adult group and chronic frontal sinusitis group were 67.5%,17.1,12.1% and 69.6%,47.4%,24.4%.4.The incidence of air cells in the medial frontal sinus drainage group was 35.8% and 57.8% in the normal adult group and the chronic frontal sinusitis group,respectively.5.Compared with normal adults and patients with chronic frontal sinusitis,in coronal and sagittal planes, there were statistically significant differences in the air chamber volume opening ratio of the anterior and posterior groups of the frontal sinus drainage channel;the air chamber volume opening ratio of the medial group was not significant.6.Compared with normal adults and patients with chronic frontal sinusitis,in coronal and sagittal planes, there were statistically significant differences in the ratio of specific ethmoid bubble diameter to frontal sinus opening.7.The frontal sinus ostium grade in the normal adult group was:positive grade 76.3%,grade zero 7.9%,and negative grade 15.8%;in the chronic frontal sinusitis group, positive grade 58.5%,grade zero 12.5%,and negative grade 29.6%.Conclusion:1.The classification of the frontal sinus drainage channel has an important influence on the occurrence of chronic frontal sinusitis.Among the frontal sinus-related air cells, the nasal air cells and the supraethmoidal air cells have a higher occurrence rate, and are not associated with the pathogenesis of chronic frontal sinusitis.Chronic frontal sinusitis is closely related to the appearance of other air cells.2.The volume opening ratio of the anterior and posterior air cells was correlated with chronic frontal sinusitis. So as the ratio of ethmoid bubble diameter to frontal sinus opening.
