Objective:The purpose of this study was to observe the clinical efficacy of electro-acupuncture to benefit the kidney and fill the marrow group of acupuncture points in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)of the medulla oblongata type.Methods:Sixty-eight patients with AD who met the inclusion criteria were divided into the acupuncture group(34 cases)and the electroacupuncture group of acupuncture points(34cases)according to the random number table method. Both groups were given conventional treatment during the treatment period;the acupuncture group used traditional acupuncture, and the electroacupuncture group of acupuncture points took electroacupuncture to benefit the kidney and fill the marrow group of acupuncture points, and both groups were treated for4 weeks. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment(Mo CA),Chinese Medicine Symptom Score(SDSD),and Simple Mental State Examination Form(MMSE)were used to assess the overall cognitive function and Chinese medicine symptoms of the patients as well as to evaluate the efficacy before and after treatment.Results:1.The differences in the scores of the patients before treatment were not statistically significant when compared between groups(P > 0.05)and were comparable. After treatment, the Mo CA scale and MMSE scale in both groups improved and the SDSD scale scores decreased compared with those before treatment by intra-group comparison, and there were significant differences(P < 0.05).2.After treatment,by comparison between groups, the Mo CA amount,MMSE scale, and SDSD scale scores of the electroacupuncture group acupuncture group were significantly different compared to the acupuncture group(P < 0.05),which was statistically significant.3.The cognitive function assessment and Chinese medicine evidence score improvement efficiency of the electroacupuncture group acupuncture group and acupuncture group were 84.38%,84.38% and 69.70%,66.67%,respectively,and the difference in efficacy between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.electroacupuncture can improve the overall cognitive function of patients with Alzheimer’s disease who have inadequate medulla oblongata.2.Electroacupuncture can improve the ability of daily life and working memory in dementia patients with medulla oblongata.3.Electroacupuncture can improve the TCM symptoms of dementia patients with medulla oblongata.4.The efficacy of electro-acupuncture with Yi kidney and fill marrow acupuncture points was generally better than that of traditional acupuncture in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease patients with deficient medulla oblongata. |
