Objective:To observe the changes in short-term cognitive function after painless gastroscopy in patients with diabetes mellitus, and to explore its relationship with endogenous nociceptin/orphanin FQ(N/OFQ).Methods:a total of 90 patients,44 males and 46 females, aged 37 to 66 years,American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I or II,who underwent gastroscopy in the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from March to May 2021 were selected and divided into three groups: diabetic painless group(DW group,n=30),non-diabetic painless group(NW group,n=30),non-diabetic general group(NP group,n=30).The patient’s Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)was measured 30 minutes before examination(T1),and at the time that the exodus criterion was met(T2).And non-infusion side elbow vein blood was set to detect blood glucose levels, plasma nociceptin/ophanin FQ(N/OFQ),and interleukin-6(IL-6)concentrations.Results:T1: The MoCA score of DW group was lower than that of NW group and NP group, and the blood glucose,N/OFQ and IL-6 concentration of DW group were higher than that of NW group and NP group, the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05),while there were no significant differences in MoCA score and concentrations of all biochemical indexes between NW group and NP group(P > 0.05).T1 to T2: MoCA score of DW group and NW group decreased, and the change rate of MoCA score of DW group was greater than that of NW group, and that of NW group was greater than that of NP group, with statistically significant differences(P < 0.05),while there was no statistically significant difference in MoCA score of NP group(P > 0.05).T1 to T2:Blood glucose,N/OFQ and IL-6 concentrations in the three groups were increased, and the change rates of blood glucose and N/OFQ concentrations in the DW group were higher than those in the NW group, the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05),while there were no significant differences in the concentrations of biochemical indexes between the NP group and the NW group(P > 0.05).The change rate of MoCA score from T1 to T2 in DW group and NW group was negatively correlated with the change rate of N/OFQ concentration(P < 0.05).Conclusion:Short-term cognitive function is significantly reduced after painless gastroscopy in patients with diabetes mellitus, which may be related to elevated N/OFQ concentrations.
