Objective:Through a experimental study of home tele-rehabilitation for patients after total hip arthroplasty,we investigated the effects of this new smart connected rehabilitation mode on patients’ hip function, periprosthetic muscle strength, walking and balance functions, and provided a basis for the clinical application of home tele-rehabilitation mode for postoperative patients. Methods:A total of 64 patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty in an orthopedic ward from January 2021 to December 2021 in a tertiary care hospital in Taiyuan,Shanxi Province were randomly divided into a tele-rehabilitation group and a traditional rehabilitation group using a convenience sampling method and according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Finally,59 cases completed the study, including 30 cases in the tele-rehabilitation group and 29 cases in the traditional rehabilitation group. The traditional rehabilitation group used telephone follow-up plus outpatient follow-up,while the tele-rehabilitation group implemented a smart internet-based tele-rehabilitation program. The Harris hip score(HHS)was assessed at admission,4 weeks,8 weeks and 12 weeks after discharge for both groups, and the periacetabular muscle strength test(MMT)and get-up-and-walk timing test(TUGT)were performed at admission and 12 weeks after discharge, respectively;the exercise compliance of the study subjects was also evaluated at6 months after discharge.SPSS 21.0 software was used for statistical analysis, and the statistical methods mainly included: descriptive analysis, two independent samples t-test,chi-square test, repeated measures ANOVA,and simple effect model, etc. Results:The comparison of HHS scores between the two study groups in terms of time effect,between-group effect, and interaction effect, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).The results of the MMT in the two study groups for hip flexor muscle strength and hip abductor muscle strength, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference in TUGT results between the two study groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05)when comparing the number of exercise sessions in 3 months and in 6 months(P<0.001)between the two study groups. Conclusion:The home tele-rehabilitation model based on smart connected is safe, effective and feasible for enhancing the continuity of in-hospital-out-of-hospital treatment, promoting the recovery of post-operative hip function in total hip replacement patients, increasing periprosthetic muscle strength and improving walking ability, and has the value of a progressive promotion.
