Objective: The purpose of this study is to observe the clinical efficacy of combining soothing liver and regulating mind acupuncture with auricular acupuncture in the therapy for perimenopause anxiety disorder,by evaluating the effectiveness,safety,and feasibility of the treatment method in this study in comparison with conventional acupuncture treatment,and to provide a theoretical basis and new treatment ideas for the clinical treatment of this disorder.Methods: Sixty-six patients with perimenopausal anxiety disorder from the Department of Gynecology and Acupuncture and Moxibustion Clinic were randomly and equally distributed into a test group and a control group.The control group was managed with routine acupoints for “Melancholia”in the “Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapeutics”,and after 4 weeks of uninterrupted treatment,the clinical efficacy and treatment effects were compared by observing the changes in the Hamilton Anxiety Inventory,the Anxiety Self-Rating Scale and the Modified Kupperman Scale points prior to and after therapy.Results: The total completion rate was 95.45%.2.In age and duration of disease there were no significant differences,HAMA score,SAS score,modified Kupperman scale score,and TCM syndrome score between the test groupn and the control group(P>0.05),and the baseline levels were the same.3.In the test group,2 cases were cured,18 cases were effective,10 cases were effective,and 2 cases were invalid,with a total effeciency of 93.75%;in the control group,0 cases were cured,7cases were effective,18 cases were effective,and 6 cases were invalid,with a total effeciency of 80.65%,with significantly different between the two groups(P<0.01).4.HAMA score and SAS score: in the comparison of before and after therapy of two groups were saliently significant(P<0.01),and after the end of the therapy,the difference between the test group and the control group was saliently significant(P<0.01),the HAMA score and SAS score in the test group decreased significantly compared with the control group.5.Modified Kupperman scale scores: The difference of modified Kupperman scale scores between the test group and the control group after therapy was saliently significant(P<0.01).6.TCM symptom scores:(1)Total scores: The total TCM symptom scores of the test group were lower than those of the control group after treatment,and the difference was sailently significant(P<0.01)(2)Itemized scores: the test group showed better improvement than the control group in the areas of depression,chest distension,chest tightness,insomnia,and dreaminess,with significant differences(P<0.05);the differences were not significant in the areas of mental incompetence,abdominal humpiness,belching and thoughtlessness about dietary(P>0.05).Conclusion: The combination of soothing liver and regulating mind acupuncture with auricular acupuncture is effective in treating perimenopausal anxiety disorder,and has advantages in improving various somatic and mental phenomena,significantly improving patients’ quality of life without adverse effects.
