Objective: To understand the current situation of social support,body image and breastfeeding self-efficacy among women in late pregnancy,analyze the correlation between social support,body image and breastfeeding self-efficacy,explore the influencing factors of breastfeeding self-efficacy,clarify the mediating role of body image,and to provide empirical evidence for promoting the attention of social support and body image of late pregnant women and improving breastfeeding self-efficacy.Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to select 312 women in late pregnancy who underwent antenatal checkups in the obstetrics clinic of a tertiary care hospital in a city of Jilin Province from March to August 2021 as the study population.The general demographic characteristics questionnaire,social support rating scale,maternal body image scale and breastfeeding self-efficacy scale were used for the survey,and the data were organized and analyzed by SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0statistical software.Results.(1)The average score of social support for women in late pregnancy was 38.18 ± 6.54.There were significant differences in social support in terms of family residence,educational level,occupational status,family per capita monthly income,payment method of medical expenses and marital relationship(P < 0.05).(2)The average score of body image of women in late pregnancy was 87.06 ± 14.88.There were significant differences in body image in terms of educational level,occupational status,family per capita monthly income,marital relationship and pre pregnancy BMI(P < 0.05).(3)The average score of breastfeeding self-efficacy of women in late pregnancy was95.84 ± 16.03.There were significant differences in breastfeeding self-efficacy in terms of in family residence,educational level,occupational status,family per capita monthly income,payment method of medical expenses,marital relationship and pre pregnancy BMI(P < 0.05).(4)The body image of late pregnant women was negatively correlated with social support and breastfeeding self-efficacy(r=-0.491,P < 0.05;r=-0.674,P < 0.05),and social support was positively correlated with breastfeeding self-efficacy(r=0.543,P <0.05),respectively.(5)The factors influencing breastfeeding self-efficacy among women in late pregnancy included family per capita monthly income,payment method of medical expenses,body image and social support,which explained 53.5% of the total variance(F=23.365,P < 0.01).(6)The direct effect of social support on breastfeeding self-efficacy was 0.365,the indirect effect that could influence breastfeeding self-efficacy through body image was0.276,and the total effect was 0.641.Body image partially mediated the effect between social support and breastfeeding self-efficacy.Conclusions.(1)Women in late pregnancy have moderate levels of social support,body image,and breastfeeding self-efficacy.(2)The higher the level of social support,the better the level of body image,and the better the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy in women in late pregnancy.(3)Family per capita monthly income,payment method of medical expenses,body image and social support are the main factors affecting breastfeeding self-efficacy.(4)Social support for women in late pregnancy can influence breastfeeding self-efficacy directly and indirectly through the mediating role of body image.
