The Application Effect Of Family Integrated Transitional Care In Caring For Newborn During The Recovery Period In NICU | | Posted on:2023-09-27 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:H T Tang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2544306617493304 | Subject:Care | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective:This study aimed to use neonatal transitional care and family integrated care model at home and abroad;design plans of family integrated transitional care during the recovery period in NICU,analyze the impacts on ability to care for newborn of parents,breastfeeding rate and physical development of newborn;and provide reference for constructing a model of NICU neonatal transition care for Chinese national conditions.Method:A quasi-experiment study was conducted in a Grade III Level A hospital in Shandong province.By using the convenience sampling method,88 newborns and 88 parents according with inclusion criteria were recruited from February 1 to August 16 in 2021.The study finally included the experiment sample for 85 cases with 3 cases lost(control group 43 cases,the experimental group 42 cases).The control group adopted conventional nursing methods,and the experimental group adopted family integrated transitional care program with conventional nursing.Data coll-ected included: the ability to care for newborn of parents in both groups at admission and discharge;weight,body length,head circumference and breastfeeding data of newborns at admission and in the first and the third month after discharge from hospital.T test or rank-sum test and Chi-square test and variance analysis were used for analyzing data.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Result:(1)There were statistically significant differences(P <0.05)between the experimental group and the control group on discharge in scores of every dimensionand total scores of ability to care for newborn.There were statistically significant differences(P <0.05)in the experimental group between the total score of ability to care for newborn and the mean score of each dimension before and after intervention.(2)There were statistical significance(P <0.05)between the experimental group and the control group in weight and recumben length in the first month and the third month after discharge.There was no significant difference(P >0.05)in head circumference between the first month and the third month after discharge.There were statistically significant differences in recumbent length and weight over time between the two groups,while there were no statistically significant differences in head circumference over time between the two groups.(3)There was no significant difference(P >0.05)between the experimental group and the control group in the breastfeeding rate in the first month and the third month after discharge.There was statistical significance(P <0.05)in exclusive breastfeeding rate between the first month and the third month after discharge.Conclusions:(1)Family integrated transitional care can improve ability to care for newborn of parents during newborns’ recovery period in NICU.(2)Family integrated transitional care can promote the development of weight and recumbent length of newborns during recovery period in NICU.(3)Family integrated transitional care can improve exclusive breastfeeding rate during newborns’ recovery period.(4)Family integrated transitional care is worthy of clinical reference. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Transitional care, family integrated care, ability to care newborn, weight, head circumference, recumbent length, breastfeeding rate | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
