| Compositae is a large family, which was composed of nearly 30,000 species,1000 genus, and mainly distributed in the northern temperate zones of the world and rarely in tropical. Most plants from Compositae are pernnial herbs. For a long time, the genus Artemisia of Compositae has been a hot focus due to a variety of chemical constituents and obvious activities in it.The most famous compound from Artemisia is artemisinin, which has excellent antimalarial efficacy.Artemisia austro-yunnanensis Ling et Y.R.Ling is a rare semi-shrubby herb, which is a special plant from Compositae and mainly distributed in south and southwest of Yunnan. As one of species in the genus Artemisia, the study about it has not been performed so far. However, the chemical constituents from its volatile oil of flowers had been analyzed by our group firstly. In order to elucidate the chemical constituents further,a systematically phytochemical investigation of it was curried out.As results,60 compounds were isolated and identified from its ethanol extract by various chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, including twenty-nine sesquiterpenes(1-29),two monoterpenes(30,31),two coumarins(32,33),six phenylpropanoids(34-39),thirteen aromatics(40-52),one alkaloid(53),five aliphatics(54-58),and two sterols(59,60).Among them, compound 1-8 were new guaiane sesquiterpenes and 9 was a new eudesmanolide. This study provides a basis work for eveluating the activities of compounds and elucidating the significance of chemotaxonomy of this plant. |
