Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, the vegetable industry has become an important pillar industry in Jinning District and an important part of the rural economy of Jinning District.Jinning District is located in the south of Kunming, with excellent geographical environment and comfortable climatic conditions, which provides a strong guarantee for the development of vegetable industry. The output of Jinning District ranks first in the city(district and county),and the planting area ranks first in the city(district and county). However,at present,it seems that vegetable production in Jinning District has problems such as low technical efficiency and high input costs.Based on this, this paper takes vegetable farmers in Jinning District as the research object, measures the input-output efficiency of vegetables, and analyzes the influencing factors of their input-output efficiency, which is of great significance to the development of vegetable industry in Jinning District.Based on literature research and field research, the vegetable planting area and output in Jinning District in recent years were statistical, and then the development status of vegetables in Jinning District was described, based on 261 field research data, the data envelopment analysis method(DEA)and restricted dependent variable regression method(Tobit)were used to measure the vegetable input-output efficiency in Jinning District, and the final result was: the average comprehensive efficiency was 0.345,the average pure technical efficiency was 0.373,and the average scale efficiency was 0.942,indicating that the vegetable production efficiency was low.The results showed that education level, whether or not to join a cooperative and planting area had a significant positive impact on efficiency, land rent and labor input had a significant negative impact on efficiency, and age, gender, number of training and whether or not subsidies had significant effects on efficiency.According to the research conclusions, effective countermeasures and suggestions for improving the production efficiency of vegetables in Jinning District are given: improve farmers’ understanding of cooperatives, innovate training methods, encourage land circulation, strengthen financial support, and enhance vegetable farmers’ awareness of independent learning.
