Under the continuous impact of COVID-19,all industries have been hit to varying degrees, among which the catering industry and aquaculture industry have been greatly affected. The price of meat has fluctuated greatly, and the price of pork has also climbed to the record high.In recent years, the pig breeding industry changes, scale breeding is gradually replace the traditional breeding method, the traditional small-scale scattered farming also gradually turned into large concentration, however many pig breeding enterprise working capital management level did not keep up with its breeding scale, leading to enterprise capital use unreasonable, poor performance. In order to improve this phenomenon, this paper studies the current situation of working capital management of Wens Group, one of the leaders of pig breeding enterprises, and gives corresponding optimization measures for its shortcomings.Taking Wens Group as an example, from the perspective of value chain, through the use of value chain theory, working capital management theory, customer relationship theory and other related theories, combined with case study method, comparative research method and other analysis methods to make a comprehensive analysis of its working capital control.First of all, this paper introduces the basic financial situation and industry status of Wens Group,to ensure that the research object is representative. Then, the important financial data and working capital management characteristics of Wens Group from 2017 to 2021 were comprehensively analyzed, and the industry average value were selected as comparison to pave the way for the subsequent in-depth research. Finally, the working capital management is permeated into the value chain of the enterprise, and the working capital management data of procurement, production and sales on the internal value chain of Wens Group are studied respectively, and the upstream suppliers and downstream customers on the external value chain are further analyzed. The study shows that Wens stock occupies less supplier capital in the internal value chain, and the procurement mode is not perfect;the production link occupies too much capital and the production efficiency declines;the sales profitability is weak, the accounts receivable is unreasonable;the dependence on the upstream suppliers in the external value chain, and the important customers of the downstream lack the concentration.Based on the above problems, this paper also gives targeted suggestions from the perspective of value chain. In the internal value chain,it is necessary to further optimize the enterprise procurement process and strengthen real-time information sharing;strengthen production process management and explore new production mode;improve accounts receivable management and seek new sales channels;in the external value chain,it is necessary to further improve the supplier selection mechanism and implement classified management;establish the supplier inventory management mode, optimize inventory management;strengthen the maintenance of customer relationship.Through the perspective of value chain, the whole paper goes deeply into the internal procurement, production and sales of Wens Group as well as the working capital management of external suppliers and customers, finds out the deficiencies and optimizes them,so as to provide reference for other small and medium-sized breeding enterprises.
