Objective: microwave ablation is often used to treat liver tumors in human medicine. In this study, after establishing the model of hepatic inflammatory pseudotumor in dogs without liver tumor, microwave ablation pseudotumor and surgical resection were performed respectively to explore the effects of the two surgical methods on the experimental dogs, and by detecting the clinical indexes of the experimental dogs after operation.to evaluate the safety and feasibility of microwave ablation in dogs. Methods: nine adult Chinese pastoral dogs weighing 7-9kg were selected as blank control group, and 6 dogs with hepatic inflammatory pseudotumor model were established with Freund’s complete adjuvant. The dogs were randomly divided into microwave ablation group(n = 3)and surgical resection group(n = 3).The preoperative and postoperative changes of the following indexes were compared: clinical symptoms, body weight, total white blood cell(WBC),total red blood cell(RBC),biochemical indexes, pathological sections of pseudotumor ablation, etc. The length of surgical wound, wound healing, survival rate, postoperative complications,one-time ablation rate of pseudotumor, operation time and intraoperative blood loss were further analyzed.to evaluate the feasibility and safety of Bultrasound-guided microwave ablation on hepatic inflammatory pseudotumor in dogs. Results: compared with the blank control group, alkaline phosphatase(ALP),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)in the surgical resection group increased significantly on the 1st,3rd,5th and 7th day after operation. The total number of WBC increased significantly on the 1st,14 th and 21 st day,but there was no significant change in γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GGT),body weight and total number of RBC after operation.Compared with the blank control group,ALP in the microwave ablation group increased significantly on the 1st,3rd,5th and 7th day,ALT on the 1st and 3rd day,AST on the 1st day, white blood cell count on the 1st,3rd and 5th day,and WBC on the 1st,3rd and 5th day. There was no significant change in γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GGT),body weight and total number of RBC after operation.Compared with the microwave ablation group, the ALP in the surgical resection group increased significantly on the 1st,3rd,5th and 7th day after operation, the ALT increased significantly on the 1st and 3rd day,and on the 5th,7th and 21 st day,the AST increased significantly on the 1st day and 5th day,and the wound length and intraoperative blood loss increased significantly. There were poor wound healing and many complications, but there was no significant change in γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GGT),body weight,WBC and total number of RBC after operationThe primary ablation rate of pseudotumor was 88.9%(8 percussion 9).The pathological sections showed that on the 0th day after microwave ablation, the liver tissue structure was destroyed, hepatocytes degenerated and necrotized, and on the 28 th day,a large area of hepatocytes degenerated,a large number of neutrophils and lymphocytes infiltrated and formed an abscess.a small amount of hemosiderin was deposited in hepatocytes, and a large number of fibrous tissue hyperplasia and severe fibrosis were seen in the portal area. Conclusion: microwave ablation under the guidance of B-ultrasound has the advantages of less bleeding, lower degree of liver injury, less postoperative complications and easier recovery in dogs.
