| In order to develop a multinutrient block suitable for local Ordos fine-wool sheep,this experiment tested and analyzed the main mineral content of 46 forage samples from different areas of Ordos,and designed two characteristic block formulations according to their content,carrying different carriers respectively,made block and tested the quality,and observed the palatability of block and its effect on Ordos fine-wool sheep through feeding effect test.Forty Erdos fine-wool sheep,aged around 12 weeks,of similar weight and body condition,healthy and well grown,were selected and dewormed before the experiment,then randomly divided into 5 groups of 8 sheep each and numbered uniformly.Group A was supplemented with block No.(1),group B with block No.(2),group C with block No.(3),group D with block No.(4),and the control group was not supplemented with block.Before the test,the enclosures were thoroughly cleaned,cleansed and disinfected.The pens and activity areas were cleaned once a day and disinfected once a week.During the trial period,the test flock was fed the same basic diet and the sheep were fed alfalfa grass ad libitum,and each sheep was supplemented with 250 g of the sheep farm’s own concentrate daily,which was supplied twice a day in the morning and afternoon.The health,feeding and watering conditions of the test sheep were observed and recorded in detail every day.The experiment was carried out for 3 months according to the above method.Wool length and body weight of each group were measured on 0 d,30 d,60 d and90 d before morning feeding and blood was collected from the jugular vein to determine the antioxidant indexes SOD,CAT,T-AOC,GSH-PX,GSH,MDA and NO.The results of the trials were as follows:(1)The mineral content of forage grasses in the Ordos region was analysed to get a preliminary idea of the mineral content of the main forage grasses in the region.(2)Two block formulations were designed and equipped with different carriers,i.e.No.1,No.2,No.3 and No.4 block.The hardness,swelling,specific gravity,deliquescence,apparent properties and cracks of the four multinutrient block were measured and water immersion tests were carried out,resulting in the best performance of No.(2)block,followed by No.(1)block and No.(4)block,while No.(3)block failed to meet the standard.(3)The effect of supplementation with four kinds of multinutrient block on the growth performance,wool length and antioxidant capacity of Erdos fine-wool sheep.The results of the experiment showed that the body weight,average daily weight gain and wool length of sheep in the test group all increased to different degrees compared with those in the control group;supplementation with the lick bricks could improve the antioxidant indexes of serum SOD,CAT,GSH-PX,T-AOC and GSH and reduce the MDA content of the test sheep,which could enhance the antioxidant function of the body.(4)Supplemental feeding of multinutrient block can improve part of the production performance of Erdos fine-wool sheep,(2)block are the most effective,followed by(3)block.Therefore,four types of multinutrient block were developed through trials,of which the(2)block had the best quality parameters and the best supplementation effect on Erdos fine hair sheep. |
