The vocational education is an important part of China’s national education system.Based on the guidance of national policy and the driving force of social development,deepening the classroom revolution in secondary vocational education has become a heavy responsibility of innovation in the field of vocational education.As the core course of Landscape Technology in secondary vocational school,the effect of classroom teaching of the Landscape Plant Pest Control is closely related to the cultivation of students’ professional ability.The model construction method takes students as the main body of practice,which not only presents abstract things in visual form,but also deepens students’ cognition and promotes the development of their thinking.The study applies the model construction method to the teaching of Landscape Plant Pest Control in secondary vocational school,and discusses in depth its necessity,implementation method and application effect in the teaching of the course.Based on the investigation of model construction method,curriculum research and classroom status at home and abroad,this study analyzed the fit between the model construction method and the course of Landscape Plant Pest Control in terms of curriculum objectives,curriculum content and curriculum implementation.Then applied three types of models,namely physical model,conceptual model and mathematical model,to the teaching of the relevant contents of Landscape Plant Pest Control,and evaluated the teaching effects accordingly by using student questionnaires and classroom observation.The current study showed that the students’ learning style of the course of the Landscape Plant Pest Control needs to be improved;teachers and students generally recognize the model construction method and teachers are willing to adopt this teaching method in the classroom,but students’ knowledge of the model needs to be improved.Therefore,it is necessary to apply the model construction method to the classroom teaching of Landscape Plant Pest Control in the secondary level.The teaching practice shows that the model construction method is feasible to be applied to the teaching of the Landscape Plant Pest Control,which can establish a proven operation process and has a positive effect on the development of students and teachers.The model construction method can enhance students’ professional ability,develop teachers’ teaching and research ability and effectively enhance students’ classroom participation.Based on the above study,in order to facilitate subsequent teachers to implement the model construction method in classroom teaching,the following teaching suggestions are proposed:(1)transforming students’ learning styles and strengthening endogenous motivation;(2)clarifying modeling teaching links and penetrating thinking styles;(3)enriching course organization forms and enriching classroom activities;(4)establishing a diversified evaluation system to jointly promote students’ development.
