Paeonia ostii ’Feng Dan’ is one of the oil peonies widely cultivated in China.This variety has high fruit character,but its flowers are single and white with low ornamental value,which makes it difficult to meet the diversified development of oil peonies and the needs of rural tourism.In this study,Paeonia Ostii ’feng Dan’ is taken as the female parent.Sixteen lotus type,rose type and colorful peony varieties were used as male parent.116 filial generation of flowering and fruiting were used as materials.Phenological period and phenotypic characters of the filial generation were observed and recorded.The evaluation system of peony for ornamental and oil use was established by AHP,grey relational analysis and K-mean cluster analysis,and new germplasm with high ornamental value and good oil use character were screened out according to the evaluation results,which provided new germplasm resources of peony for ornamental and oil use industry.The main research results are as follows:1.Ten plants,such as FDx LYH-A3,FDx LYH-A6,had early budding dates;five plants,such as FDx LJL-M4,had late budding dates;five plants,such as FDx LYH-A8,had early flowering;twelve plants,such as FDx LYH-A5,FDx LYH-A11,had late flowering;eight plants,such as FDx LYH-C2,had early fruit coloring period;twelve plants,such as FDx LYH-A5,FDx LYH-A13,had late fruit coloring period.2.Forty-eight plants,such as FDx LYH-A2,had pink and spotted petals;twenty-four plants,such as FDx LYH-A1,had purple and spotted petals;five pants,such as FDx LYH-A10,had pink and purple spotted petals;sixteen plants,such as FD×QW-FC03,flower type is lotus;one plants is FDx YPZ-V1,which flower type is chrysanthemum;three plants,such as FDx LYH-D1,flower type is rosa;sixty-nine plants,such as FDx FQS-R8,flower diameter over 15 cm.3.Four plants,such as FDx LYH-C7,had 5 or more fruits;nine plants,such as FDx LYH-C1,fruit diameter over 9cm;eight plants,such as FDx HQ-P9,fruit weight above60g;eight plants,such as FDx FQS-R6,the number of seeds more than 100;seven plants such as FD×MCJH-FA01,had seed yield above 30 g per plant;twelve plants,such as FD×MCJH-FA02,with 100 grain weight above 40g;The average ratio of seed kernel to coat was 1.812±0.39,and the average oil extraction rate was 25.67%±0.03.The average ratio of seed kernel to coat was 1.95±0.23,and the oil extraction rate was 28.68%±0.02 of 30 best plants in 4 groups by K-means clustering.4.The peony for ornamental and oil use model was established by using analytic hierarchy process(AHP).116 hybrid plants could be divided into 4 grades by K-means clustering.Grade Ⅰ excellent single plant included 15 plants such as FD×DHBZ-FB06,which had high ornamental value,high oil potential and excellent comprehensive characters;general single plant of class Ⅱ included 33 plants,such as FDx LYH-C3,These plants had high ornamental value and average oil potential;poor single plant of grade Ⅲ included 41 plants,such as FDx MCJH-T5,which had general traits,poor ornamental and oil potential.there were 27 plants in grade Ⅳ,such as FDx FQS-R4,These plants had serious defects in ornamental and oil characters and were difficult to apply.5.116 hybrid plants could be divided into 4 grades by K-means clustering based on the peony for ornamental and oil use model established by grey relational analysis method.Grade Ⅰ excellent single plant: FD×DHBZ-FB06 and other 15 plants,these plants have high ornamental value and oil potential;general single plant of class Ⅱ included 41 plants such as FFDx HCH-G5,which had high ornamental value and average oil potential;poor single plant of grade Ⅲ included 44 plants,such as FDx DZZ-Q5,which had average ornamental value and poor oil potential;grade Ⅳ included 15 plants such as FDx ZFCY-L1,These plants had serious defects in ornamental characters and oil characters,which were difficult to apply.6.Through comprehensive analysis,20 new germplasm with high potential of ornamental and oil were selected.They are FD×DHBZ-FB06,FDx LYH-D2,FD×MCJH-FA01,FD×LYH-A1,FD×XK-K1,FD×LYH-B3,FD×LYH-A7,FD×LYH-FE01,FD×MCJH-FA02,FD×DHBZ-W3,FD×LYH-D1,FD×XRY-FD05,FD×DZZ-Q1,FD×LJL-M14,FD×DHBZ-FB04,FDx LYH-A6,FD×XRY-FD03,FD×LYH-A5,FD×XRY-FB01,FD×LYH-FE03.
