| During the breeding process,poultry will be stimulated by the external environment,causing varying degrees of damage to the body,affecting the growth and development of poultry,and in severe cases,leading to the death of poultry,resulting in reduced economic benefits.Under the policy of total antibiotic prohibition,it is crucial to choose a substance with low toxicity,low side effects,and no residue to replace the use of antibiotics.Quercetin has attracted much attention due to its antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,immune regulation,and improving intestinal health functions.In this study,an oxidative stress model was established using lipopolysaccharide(LPS),and quercetin was added at different stages(before and after LPS stress)to study the effects of quercetin on growth performance,antioxidant performance,blood biochemical indicators,and intestinal digestive enzyme activity in Jilin white geese under induced stress.This study provided a reference basis for the application of quercetin in Jilin white geese breeding,and provided a feasible method for alleviating oxidative stress in Jilin white geese.In this experiment,180 Jilin white geese with similar body weight(1054.8 ±117.3 g)and similar body shape were selected,and a single factor completely randomized design was adopted.The pre feeding period was 7 days.After 7 days,180 geese were randomly divided into 6 groups,with 3 replicates in each group,with 10 geese in each replicate.Six groups were divided into blank control group(K group),LPS control group(L group),150 mg/kg quercetin group(H1 group),300 mg/kg quercetin group(H2 group),450 mg/kg quercetin group(H3 group),and 600 mg/kg quercetin group(H4 group),and quercetin was added to the basic diet of each group at 0 mg/kg,0 mg/kg,150 mg/kg,300 mg/kg,450 mg/kg,and 600 mg/kg,respectively.The trial was divided into two stages: 11-25 days old and 26-31 days old.The formal trial lasted for a total of 21 days.Group L,H1,H2,H3,and H4 were injected intraperitoneally with 0.5mg/kg LPS on the 16 th and 21 st days of the trial,while Group K was injected with saline.1.Effect of quercetin on the production performance of Jilin white geese: Before LPS stress,adding 450mg/kg quercetin to the diet can significantly increase body weight and average daily weight gain(P<0.05),and reduce average daily feed intake and feed weight ratio(P<0.05).Adding 450 mg/kg quercetin to the diet can significantly improve the slaughter rate,full bore rate,and leg muscle rate of Jilin white geese(P<0.05).2.Effects of quercetin on antioxidant capacity in Jilin white geese: Oxidative stress caused a significant decrease in the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),and hydrogen peroxide(CAT)in Jilin white geese(P<0.05),and a significant increase in the content of malondialdehyde(MDA)(P<0.05).Adding 450 mg/kg quercetin to the diet can significantly increase SOD and CAT activities(P<0.05),while adding 450 mg/kg quercetin can significantly reduce MDA content(P<0.05).3.Effect of quercetin on blood biochemical indicators in Jilin white geese:Oxidative stress resulted in a significant decrease in the contents of high-density lipoprotein(HDL-C)and total protein(TP)in blood biochemical indicators in Jilin white geese(P<0.05),and a significant increase in the content of aspartate aminotransferase(AST)(P<0.05).Adding 450 mg/kg quercetin to the diet significantly increased the content of TP and triglycerides(TG)(P<0.05),and significantly decreased the activity of AST(P<0.05).4.Effect of quercetin on digestive enzymes in the intestine of Jilin White Goose:Oxidative stress caused a significant decrease in trypsin activity in the duodenum and ileum of Jilin White Goose(P<0.05).Adding an appropriate amount of quercetin had no significant effect on intestinal digestive enzymes in Jilin white geese.Compared with the LPS group,adding 450 mg/kg quercetin to the diet could significantly increase duodenal trypsin activity(P<0.05)and alleviate LPS-induced oxidative stress.In conclusion,adding 450 mg/kg quercetin to the diet under non stress conditions can improve the growth performance of Jilin White Goose.Adding 450 mg/kg quercetin to the diet under oxidative stress can increase the activity of antioxidant enzymes and alleviate the impact of oxidative stress on blood biochemical indicators and intestinal digestive enzymes. |
