| During the perinatal period,cows suffer from great physiological changes,such as pregnancy,parturition and lactation,and tend to be in some degree of negative energy balance(NEB).NEB status can aggravate the immune suppression and oxidative stress of dairy cows,it can increase the susceptibility rate of infectious and non-infectious diseases,and directly or indirectly reduce the performance and life span of dairy cows.The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of propylene glycol mixture and Catosal on lactation performance and body health of perinatal dairy cows.Thirty clinic healthy Holstein perinatal cows with similar body condition and parity were selected,and randomly divided into 3 groups with 10 cows in each group:including control group(CON,basal diet),catosal group(CBI,basal diet and inject compound butafosfan injection 25 m L on day 7 and 6 before delivary,the day of delivery,and day 1 after delivary),propylene glycol mixture group(PG,basal diet and propylene glycol mixture).The experiment was conducted from the day before delivery to day 21 after delivery,total 28 d.Milk yield and composition were measured at 5weeks after delivery.The blood energy metabolism,liver function,immunity and antioxidation,endocrine and other physiological and biochemical indexes were analyzed.1.The effect of propylene glycol mixture and Catosal on lactation performance of peripartum dairy cows(1)Changes in milk yield: propylene glycol mixture can significantly increase the milk yield of dairy cows in 1~5 weeks after delivery(P<0.05).The milk yield in CBI group showed an increasing trend.(2)Changes in milk composition: propylene glycol mixture can maintain the milk fat rate of dairy cows after delivery,and increase the rate of milk protein,lactose and the content of non-fat solids at 1~5 weeks after delivery.This test did not show the effect of Catosal on increasing milk composition.2.The effect of propylene glycol mixture and Catosal on perinatal cow health(1)Dry matter intake: propylene glycol mixture and Catosal had no significant effect on DMI(P>0.05).(2)Energy metabolism indicators: the GLU in PG group was significantly higher than that in CON group on the day of delivery and after delivery(P<0.05),and significantly higher than that in CBI group on 7 d,10 d and 14 d(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in GLU between the CBI group and the CON group after delivery(P>0.05).BHBA in CBI group and PG group was significantly lower than that in CON group on 0 d and 7 d(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in TC among three groups(P>0.05).TG in PG group was significantly lower than that in CON group and CBI group on 0 d and 14 d(P<0.05).(3)Liver function indicators: ALT in PG group on 0 d,7 d and 14 d and AST,T-bil on 7 d,14 d and 21 d were significantly lower than those in CON group(P<0.05).Postpartum ALT,AST and T-bil in CBI group were lower than those in CON group,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).Only PG group γ-GT on 14 d had significant difference with CON group(P<0.05).On 0 d,7 d and 14 d,TP,ALB and A/G in CBI group and PG group were higher than those in CON group,but only TP and ALB in PG group were significantly different from those in CON group(P<0.05).(4)Immune and oxidative indicators: there was no significant difference in IL-6,TNF-α and GLB in all group on-7 d(P>0.05).Compared with CON group,IL-1β in PG group decreased significantly on 7 d,14 d dand 21 d after delivery(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between PG group and CBI group(P>0.05).IL-6 in PG and CBI group was significantly lower than that in CON group on 0 d(P<0.05).GLB in PG group and CBI group was higher than that in CON group on 0 d,7 d and 14 d,but only GLB in PG Group was significantly higher than that in CON group on 14 d(P<0.05).MDA in CBI and PG group were significantly lower than those in CON group on-7 d and 0 d(P<0.05),and MDA in PG and CBI group were significantly lower than those in CON group and CBI group on 7 d and 14 d(P<0.05).On 21 d after delivery,MDA in PG group was significantly lower than that in CON group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between PG group and CBI group(P>0.05).T-AOC in PG group was significantly higher than that of CON and CBI group on 0 d and after delivery(P<0.05).CK in PG group was significantly lower than CBI group and CON group on 0 d,7 d and 14 d(P<0.05).(5)Endocrine indicators: INS in CBI group was significantly higher than that in PG group and CON group on 7 d(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in INS among three groups on 0 d(P>0.05).On 7 d,14 d and 21 d after delivery,INS in PG group was significantly higher than that in CON group(P<0.05),but CBI group had no significant difference with CON group(P>0.05).ADP in PG group and CBI group was significantly higher than that in CON group on 7 d,14 dand 21 d(P<0.05).LEP and ADP in PG group increased slowly during the whole experiment period.LEP in CBI group was significantly higher than that in CON group on-7 d and 0 d(P<0.05),while that in PG group was significantly higher than that in CON group only on 21 d after delivery(P<0.05).(6)Other serum indicators: CREA in each group showed a trend of rising first and then declining.CREA in CBI and PG group was lower than that of CON group on-7 d and 0 d(P>0.05),and that in CBI and PG group was significantly lower than that in CON group on 7 d and 14 d(P<0.05).Compared with CON group,UREA in PG and CBI group decreased on 7 d,14 d and 21 d,significantly decreased on 7 d and 14 d in PG group,and significantly decreased on 21 d in CBI group(P<0.05).During the whole experimental,α-AMY in CON group was higher than PG group and lower than CBI group.There was no significant difference in LIP among three groups(P>0.05).On 7 d and 21 d after delivery,α-AMY in PG group was significantly lower than that in CBI group and CON group(P<0.05).Conclution: Both supplement of propylene glycol mixture and intramuscular injection of Catosal can fairly improve the lactation performance of dairy cows in the perinatal period,enhance perinatal energy metabolism,alleviate liver and kidney load,improve immune function and antioxidant capacity,reduce oxidative stress injury,enhance immune function and regulate endocrine homeostasis of dairy cows,but the effect of propylene glycol mixture is more obvious overall. |
