In order to explore the effects of potassium application on nutrient elements and secondary metabolite essential oils of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang, promote the growth and development of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang and increase the yield and development of essential oil of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang, this study took the 10year-old Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang artificial pure forest as the research object, and studied different potassium fertilizer gradients(K0:control,K1:applied potassium fertilizer 60g/plant,K2:applied potassium fertilizer 120g/plant,K3:applied potassium fertilizer 180g/plant,K4:The effect of potassium fertilizer 240g)on the nutrient elements and essential oils of the branches and leaves of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang, and to hopefully further determine the most suitable fertilizer gradients, the main results are as follows:1.Potassium application had a significant effect on the nutrient content of branches and leaves of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang.The N and K contents of branches and leaves showed a trend of increasing and then decreasing in both seasons, with the highest N and K contents in January under K3 treatment;in July, the N and K contents of branches and leaves reached the maximum at K2 and were significantly higher than those of CK.The amount of potassium application in January increased the contents of Fe,Mn and Zn among leaf trace elements more significantly, and for branches,Mn and Zn were more significant.2.A total of 30 major components with relative molecular mass greater than 1%were measured in leaf essential oil of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang after different gradients of fertilization, and a total of 33 in branches.Among them, olefins, naphthalenes and alcohols were the main categories, followed by aldehydes, esters and ketones, and branches added oxides compared to leaves. The relative contents of olefins, naphthalenes and ketones in leaf essential oil tended to increase and then decrease in both seasons, with the relative contents of olefins reaching their maximum values under K2 treatment,65.43%(January)and 67.78%(July),respectively.The relative contents of naphthalenes, aldehydes and oxides in the branch essential oils also increased and then decreased in both seasons, with aldehydes and oxides also reaching a maximum in K2 and olefins reaching a maximum of 51.26%in January under the K3 treatment.3.The main differential metabolites of the leaves are Alloaroma-dendrene and a-Copaene and the main differential metabolites of the branch are β-caryophyl and αCopaene.Among them,Alloaroma-dendrene was the absolute dominant component reaching a maximum of 25.16%in January under K2 treatment and 32.54%in July under K4 treatment. It was found that the gradient application of potassium fertilizer produced new volatile components in branches and leaves of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang, mostly concentrated in olefins and alcohols. The main differential metabolites of the leaves were Bilberryene(3.65%-4.93%)and(-)Eudesmol(2.00%-2.22%),and the main differential metabolites of the branches wereα-apigenin(3.79%-5.79%)and beta-eudesmol(5.19%-5.70%).4.Both the amount of potassium applied and the season of collection had an effect on the yield of essential oil of branches and leaves of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang, which reached a maximum of 0.61 ‰ and 0.50‰ under K2 treatment in January and were significantly higher than CK,and reached a maximum of 0.48‰ and 0.35‰ under K1 treatment in July. The branch winter yield was greater than that in summer. The relative content of oxygenated compounds in leaf essential oil of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang decreased after potassium fertilization.Potassium fertilization reduced the quality of leaf essential oil but slightly increased the content of oxygenated compounds in branch essential oil,and the relative content of oxygenated compounds in branches and leaves of Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.)Yang without fertilization treatment was greater in January than in July.
