Study On Variety Screening And Supporting Cultivation Techniques Of Fresh Carrots

Abstract/Summary:
As a nutrient rich vegetable,carrot rich in a variety of vitamins,protein and fat so on,In addition,carrots have high yield,fewer pests and diseases,and relatively high economic value.So it is popular for people and have become one of the essential vegetables for people’s life and growing.At present,the main carrots in China are the varieties with large root type,and there are almost no varieties with small volume suitable for fresh-eating,and the cultivation mode of fresh food carrots has not been refined.Therefore,it is very important to introduce long and thin fresh food carrot varieties and study the cultivation mode suitable for fresh food carrot varieties.This experiment compares the phenology,agronomic traits and nutritional quality of 6 imported fresh carrot varieties and the separation of offspring of 4 fresh carrot varieties that have been selfed for many years,in order to screen out suitable fresh carrot varieties in Taigu,Shanxi;In addition,the growth performance and quality characters of fresh carrot varieties under different soil sand mixing ratio and different planting density were compared to study the best cultivation mode.The results are as follows:1.In terms of the growth cycle of six imported fresh-eating carrot varieties,the growth period of each variety was basically between 95 and 101 days,and the variety ’B924’ had the shortest growth cycle;The root length of cultivars’ B924 ’,’B966’ and ’B913’ was longer,and the proportion of the middle column thickness to the whole root thickness was the smallest.Cultivars’ B924 ’,’B966’ and ’P1129’ had the smallest proportion of malformed roots and cleft roots.Only ’P1129’ had a long conical root type,while the other five cultivars were all slender and long.Variety ’B966’ had the highest yield,which was significantly higher than other fresh food varieties The water content of 6 fresh eating carrot varieties was between 87 and 91%,variety ’P1129’had the highest V_C content and soluble sugar,and variety ’B913’ and ’B924’ had the highest content protein content.2.Investigating on offspring separation of selfing fresh carrot for a few years,among four imported fresh-eating varieties,the standard deviation and variation coefficient of root length of offspring from varieties’ little finger ’was minimum with 2.00 and 10.32% respectively,and the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of root thickness is the smallest with2.03 and 9.65% respectively.The progeny of this variety grows neatly and the degree of separation is small,so it is suitable to be processed into "baby" carrot.3.Comparing treatments with different proportion of soil mixing with sand,the soil water content increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of sand content.The highest soil water content was19.77% in the treatment with 20 m~3/667 m~2 of sand.The maximum value of soil porosity is 45.44% in the treatment of 30 m~3/667 m~2 of sand.The contents of soil organic matter and total nitrogen increased first and then decreased with the increase of sand mixing amount,while the contents of available phosphorus and available potassium decreased gradually.Considering the growth index of carrot,the number of leaves and plant height were both higher in CK treatment,and significantly higher than that in CK treatment with 30m~3/ 667 m~2.The root length was the longest in the treatment with mixed sand of 10 m~3/667 m~2.The root and middle column diameters decreased gradually with the increase of sand content,and there was no significant difference between sand mixing treatments.The malformed roots and cracked roots did not appear in the three sand mixing treatments.The highest yield is from mixed sand 10 m~3/667 m~2 treatment,the average yield in667 m~2 can reach more than 4700 kg.Therefore,the most suitable soil sand content for fresh carrot planting is 10 m~3/667 m~2,and the soil porosity in this treatment is 44.46%.4.Comparing the growth of carrots under different planting densities,the growth of carrot leaf number and plant height under the treatments of 3 cm and 5 cm plant spacing was higher than that of 8 cm plant spacing;the root length was the longest under the treatment of 5 cm plant spacing,and the average value was20 cm or more;the root thickness is the thickest under the 8 cm plant spacing treatment;the 5 cm plant spacing treatment has the smallest ratio of the column thickness to the root thickness;the 3 cm plant spacing treatment has the highest yield;in the 10 m~3/667 m~2 sand-mixed treatment,the 5 cm plant spacing The nutrient quality content is the most under the treatment;in summary,the most suitable cultivation mode for fresh carrots in Taigu,Shanxi is soil with a porosity of 44.46% and a planting distance of 5 cm.
