In recent years, with the acceleration of urbanization, the number of motor vehicles has increased significantly, resulting in road congestion and increased pollution. As a result, public transportation has been vigorously promoted, among which rail transit has become an important means. However, due to its low density and low coverage, residents have a ’ last mile ’ problem. At the same time,at present, the development of rail transit in China is not as mature as that of conventional bus,the urban public transport system is still not perfect, and the conventional bus line is still competitive with rail transit in the early stage of rail transit operation. Therefore, the matching optimization of conventional bus network for urban rail transit is a key issue to be considered in the early stage of all rail transit construction. The construction of urban public transport system based on rail transit and supplemented by conventional bus is an important way to realize residents’ ’point’ to ’point’ travel. In summary, the research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The functional characteristics of urban rail transit and conventional bus are introduced respectively, and the characteristics of the two are compared to determine the dominant position of rail transit. The competition and cooperation relationship and spatial structure relationship between urban rail transit and conventional bus are analyzed, and the adjustment methods of matching optimization under different relationships are proposed.Based on the matching optimization of urban rail transit and conventional bus,the characteristics and influencing factors of residents’ travel under the matching state are analyzed.(2)The optimization objectives and principles are proposed, and the matching optimization ideas of urban rail transit and conventional bus are clarified.Firstly,ArcGIS establishes the basic data system, including data acquisition and storage, road network topology establishment and effective data extraction, and then classifies the rail transit stations to determine the research scope and population distribution characteristics.Secondly, the principle of selecting candidate bus stops to be matched and optimized is defined, and the accessibility of existing bus stops in the study area is visually analyzed by using the improved potential model combined with ArcGIS,so as to determine the location of new candidate bus stops and establish the site selection optimization model.Thirdly, under the premise of satisfying the optimization constraints of bus lines, the graph theory method and enumeration method are used to generate candidate line sets for existing bus lines that compete with rail transit. The k-short circuit method is combined with ArcGIS to generate a set of feeder bus candidate lines.(3)The bi-objective optimization model of candidate bus lines to be matched is constructed with the goal of maximizing the scale of line service, minimizing the cost of residents’ travel and enterprise construction and operation. The characteristics of the new bus station location optimization model and the bus line matching optimization model are analyzed, and the applicability of the algorithm is judged. The NSGA-Ⅱ algorithm and the entropy weight-TOPSIS evaluation algorithm are combined to solve the model,so as to obtain the optimal location scheme of the new station and the optimal scheme of the conventional bus line matching the rail transit, and the ArcGIS is used for visual analysis and display.(4)Taking Dalian Metro Line 4 as an example, according to the matching optimization idea of rail transit and conventional bus proposed in this paper, the matching optimization of conventional bus lines around Line 4 is carried out,and the applicability of the method is verified. At the same time,it provides a feasible scheme for the adjustment of bus lines around Dalian Metro Line 4 in the early stage of operation.
