| The shielding effect of the border hinders cross-regional exchanges, while the intermediary effect of the border can promote the development of integration. Therefore, this paper takes the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration as the research object, combines the principle analysis of the formation mechanism and transformation mechanism of the border effect, uses Barro formula to build the traditional measurement model of the border effect, and analyzes the characteristics of the border effect and its influencing factors of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration after considering the spatial and non-linear factors based on the spatial interaction measurement model. The results show that:(1)Based on the traditional border effect model, the inter-provincial border in the process of urban agglomeration integration in the Yangtze River Delta shows an intermediary effect, and the intermediary function shows an inverted "U" trend with time; The shielding effect of the core-edge border is significant, but has been weakening since 2017,and the radiation level of the core cities has improved to some extent; The border effect between the cities inside and outside the metropolitan area is significant, and after 2013,the intermediary effect has changed to the shielding effect, and the shielding effect is still weakening; The border effect between the cities inside and outside the demonstration area is a non-significant intermediary effect,of which the traditional model shows a significant intermediary effect between 2010 and 2013,and the border effect between 2014 and 2020 is not significant.(2)Based on the spatial interaction econometric model, after considering the spatial and nonlinear factors, the inter-provincial border behaves as a shielding function; The core-edge border shows the intermediary effect, while the metropolitan area border and the demonstration area border show the non-significant intermediary effect.(3)The level of population quality, transportation infrastructure, government intervention, economic structure and scientific and technological development can,on the whole, strengthen the intermediary function of the border and weaken the shielding function. In addition, population quality level, transportation infrastructure, the degree of government intervention, the level of scientific and technological development present a positive "U" relationship with economic ties, while the degree of government intervention and the economic ties present an inverse "U" relationship; The greater the road distance between cities, the lower the frequency of economic exchanges.(4)The individual border effects of cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration are heterogeneous.Based on the results of spatial interaction measurement, the border effects of economic flows in most cities in Shanghai,Hefei,Zhejiang and Jiangsu show a "intermediary effect",while in other cities in Anhui except Hefei show a "shielding effect". |
