| The Linpan in Western Sichuan(Linpan in Chengdu plain),a typical rural settlement type and geographical structure unit in the Chengdu Plain,is a result of the long-term prosperity and coexistence of the inhabitants of Shu with nature,and it serves as a significant vehicle for the rural expression of the concept of park city construction in Chengdu.During its lengthy history of settlement spatial development,Chengdu has formed an ecological wisdom system with regional characteristics and typical significance.This understanding of spatial construction ensures the Linpan’s survival on the Chengdu plain and directs the way in which the hamlet will evolve.Studying its translation,export,and reshaping is beneficial to the transmission of Tianfu farming culture’s construction know-how,the modernization of rural industries,the creation of a new regional integration and piecemeal development pattern,and the promotion of traditional villages’ ecological preservation,landscape construction,and humanistic heritage.For the purpose of this paper’s research and data collection,26 typical Linpan spaces were chosen based on the theory of creating and translating a schematic language system.We investigate the background factors in the formation of ecological wisdom in the traditional forest pan settlements in western Sichuan through documentary analysis,field research,statistical analysis,schema analysis,and image analysis.We use schema translation to visualize the thought process and inner mechanism of ecological wisdom in space and analyze and extract schema prototypes from a multidimensional perspective.This research summarizes the ecological knowledge found in the general context of the Linpan area by examining the logical rules of the building of the spatial schema system of the Linpan in Chengdu plain.It then proposes ways to remodel the Linpan with various schema development patterns.The following are the key results and recommendations:(1)The natural geographical environment and the ecological thinking of the ancestors are the background elements for the construction of the ecological wisdom of the settlement and play a crucial role in the formation of ecological wisdom.The history of forest pan evolution is the soil in which the ecological wisdom of the settlement was rooted and developed,and is the concrete expression of ecological wisdom adapted to spatial and temporal development.(2)The ecological wisdom of the forest pan space has a certain correlation with the logical elaboration and rhetorical expression of the pictorial language,which can be used as a medium to scientifically and effectively analyze the ecological wisdom of the settlement space in a spatial and visual way.Pictorial translation is a powerful tool for visualizing abstract concepts.(3)An a priori text known as ecological wisdom can be spatially translated as ecological ethics,ecological skeleton,ecological environment,and ecological aesthetics.Based on the extraction of spatial prototypes and exploring the internal organisational logic of the schematic translation system of ecological wisdom in the western Sichuan Linpan,we can obtain the rules for the construction of ecological wisdom in the spatial context of the forest pan as a whole,which are characterised by the layout hierarchy rule of "form follows external potential,overall synergy",the ethical order rule of "clan and blood,ritual and law",the nodal network rule of "like heaven and earth,star and chess",and the ecological aesthetics rule of "natural and practical,meaningful and farreaching".(4)The ecological wisdom of the traditional Linpan has an important role to play in the reshaping of the modern forest pan.Under the guidance of the rural revitalization strategy and the construction of park cities,the modern Linpan has three modes: continuation,reconstruction and growth.Under the inspiration of ecological wisdom and based on the driving mechanism of schema remodelling,the remodelling strategies of empirical schema prototype continuation,logical schema prototype derivation and situational schema prototype renewal are proposed for schema continuation forest stands;empirical schema organisational reconstruction,logical schema topological reconstruction and situational schema fusion transformation are proposed for schema reconstruction forest stands;empirical schema organisational reconstruction,logical schema topological reconstruction and situational schema fusion transformation are proposed for schema reconstruction forest stands;empirical schema adaptation derivation,logical schema fractal structure and situational schema spatio-temporal weaving are proposed for schema growth forest stands. |
