| Bamboo plants are excellent garden plants as they play an important role in improving the urban ecological environment and enhancing urban landscape.Leveraging on their unique biological and cultural characteristics, bamboo plants can create a distinctive regional landscape, which is of significant importance in improving landscape heterogeneity and quality.Sichuan is not only rich in bamboo genetic resources, but also a leader in bamboo landscape construction. In Sichuan Province, various bamboo plant landscapes including composite bamboo forest parks, bamboo corridors, bamboo forest towns, and bamboo plant landscapes in urban parks are flourishing. This paper focuses on the bamboo landscape in urban parks in Chengdu,Sichuan province.Firstly,a general survey method was used to conduct field research on 20 representatives of urban parks, analyzing the composition of bamboo species and landscape types.Secondly,in response to the problem of sparse application of landscape types and single landscape elements found in the research results,25 virtual bamboo landscape scenes were constructed and evaluated using two beauty evaluation methods(BIB-LCJ and SBE)and a restorative evaluation method(PRS),allowing for analysis of the landscape quality. Finally, bamboo landscapes optimization strategies are proposed. This study aims to provide reference for the creation and optimization of bamboo landscapes that comply with contemporary urban development and park construction. The main research results are as follows:(1)Analysis of Bamboo Plant Species and Landscape Creation: ① There are a total of15 species of bamboo, belonging to 6 genera, distributed across 316 sample plots in 18 parks. The dominant species are Bambusa multiplex ’Alphonse-Karr’ and Phyllostachys propinqua.Bamboo-grass and tree-bamboo-shrub-grass are common bamboo plant life forms, accounting for 31.01% and 22.15%,respectively.② Among the 316 sample sites surveyed, bamboo landscape types can be classified into 2 major categories and 10 sub-categories.The frequency of applications where the landscape type is bamboo as a entourage is 74.05% This category can be further divided into 5 sub-categories,with high frequency in the use of objective view and background, taking 40.17% and 22.22% respectively.Meanwhile, the application frequency for bamboo as the main feature in the landscape type is 25.95%.It can be subdivided into 5 sub-categories according to the spatial characteristics of the plant community, with single-linear(type I)and parallel-linear(type II)having a higher proportion of 71.95% and 20.73%,respectively.(2)The virtual spatial beauty and restorative landscape assessment of bamboo landscapes: ① There are significant differences in the aesthetic quality among the five types of landscape classifications based on plant community spatial features, with aesthetic scores in the following order: I-type(0.1489)>U-type(0.0439)>L-type(0.0389)>II-type(-0.0694)>口-type(-0.1521).On the other hand, different landscape elements also influence the aesthetic quality of bamboo plant communities.A standardized aesthetic evaluation model was obtained through linear regression analysis, with the formula as follows: y(aesthetic quality)=-4.020-0.086 x plant community spatial features + 0.008 x topography +0.392 x pavement + 0.672 x ground cover+1.486 x water + 0.332 x rocks. It was found that water has the greatest impact on the aesthetic quality of bamboo plant communities.②The study also revealed that there were no significant differences in the restorative capacity of different bamboo landscape spatial types. Moreover, different landscape elements also affected the restorative capacity of bamboo plant communities.A standardized restorative capacity evaluation model was obtained through linear regression analysis, with the formula as follows: y(restorative capacity)=-4.091+0.197 x plant community spatial features + 0.544 x topography-0.291 x pavement +0.702 x ground cover + 0.847 x water + 0.359 x rocks. It was found that water and ground cover landscape elements have the most significant impact on the restorative capacity of bamboo plant communities.(3)Optimization strategies of bamboo landscape:(1)promoting the use of native bamboo resources, expanding the use of introduced bamboo resources, and introducing unique bamboo species.(2)enriching the landscape community structure and composition.(3)diversifying the landscape elements configuration.(4)utilizing various landscape types.(5)adopting flexible and innovative landscape techniques.(6)incorporating historical and cultural features and regional characteristics.(7)improving the maintenance management of bamboo landscapes. |
