Study On Victor Hugo’s Thought And Enlightenment On The Protection Of French Architectural Heritage

Hugo was a major literary leader of the 19 th century French Romantic movement,one of the greatest writers in the history of world literature,and a pioneer in architectural heritage conservation who has not yet been deeply studied in China.During his more than sixty-yearlong creative career,Hugo consistently used words to promote the process of architectural heritage protection.Hugo’s intellectual inspiration for architectural heritage conservation.Hugo created the beginning for the conservation of France’s modern architectural heritage.Hugo therefore has enduring research value.Based on the extensive work of combing Hugo’s works and historical materials,this paper combines case studies,comparative studies and qualitative analysis to study Hugo in three dimensions: works,ideas and revelations.This article first analyzes the development of French architecture and Hugo’s personal life story from the time dimension,clarifies the facts of Hugo’s architectural heritage protection,and sorts out the general situation of Hugo’s travels and inspections and related creations related to architectural heritage protection.Then sort out Hugo’s works on architectural heritage protection among his many academic achievements,and come up with five ideas of Hugo’s architectural heritage protection: 1.Stop destroying French native cultural relics;2.Legislate the protection of cultural relics in France;3.Supervise the construction of cultural relics;4.Stop destroying cultural relics in other countries;5.Protect the value of cultural relics.Finally,Finally,interpret Hugo’s new positioning in the history of heritage protection from the relationship and mutual influence between Hugo and many French heritage protection pioneers,and look for the continuation of Hugo’s thought in the contemporary French heritage protection system.Three practical inspirations are proposed through Hugo’s heritage protection thought: 1.Respect the architectural heritage of each country;2.Promote the social communication and public participation of architectural heritage;3.View the "authenticity" in the restoration process of cultural heritage dialectically.Through the study of Hugo’s heritage protection thought and enlightenment,it can not only provide historical evidence for the theoretical research of architectural heritage protection,but also provide a reference for guiding relevant practical activities.At the same time,theory and practice provide corresponding references for the development of China’s architectural heritage protection,provide ideas for exploring various values ??of architectural heritage,and provide reference for today’s French or Chinese architectural heritage protection,architectural heritage restoration,and heritage activation.
