Water, energy and food are strategic resources for human survival, and they are interdependent, closely linked and have an important bond. With the growth of the world population and the development of industrialization and mechanization, the contradiction between supply and demand of water, food and energy has further deepened, and the water-energy-food(WEF)system risk has been listed as a global key risk, and the WEF system correlation relationship provides a new path for solving resource management and optimization problems. In order to explore the level of resource system coupling and coordinated development in high-energy-consuming areas, based on the perspective of coupling coordination of WEF system,Studies the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics and influencing factors of the coupling and coordination of water, energy and food in Hebei Province.Firstly, considering the regional overview, combined with the characteristics of three subsystems, the data indicators of water, energy and food systems in Hebei Province from 2010 to 2020 were screened, and a comprehensive evaluation system containing 24 indicators in three layers was designed. Then, according to the principle of minimum sum of squares of dispersions, the index weights are optimized by the comprehensive entropy method and the analytic hierarchy method. Finally, the coupling coordination model and exploratory spatial data analysis method are used to analyze the development trend and spatial agglomeration characteristics of the coupling coordination degree of the WEF system in Hebei Province, and the temporal and spatial evolution trend of the WEF system is analyzed from two dimensions:time and space. From the time dimension, the coupling coordination model of the whole and subsystem of the WEF system was constructed, and the evolution trend of the coupling coordination degree in each period was compared and analyzed, and the development stage was judged. From the spatial dimension, the coupling and coordination degree of 11 cities in Hebei Province was tested spatially to explore the spatial agglomeration mode, and the spatial evolution trend of WEF system was analyzed. The results show that the WEF system in Hebei Province is at a medium development level and highly coupled between the systems.Although the WEF system has entered the intermediate coordinated development stage,it lacks stability, and the level of coupled coordinated development of the energy system is the lowest and has been declining for a long time,so it is urgent to further improve the shortcoming of the energy system and improve the stability of the overall coupling and coordinated development of the WEF system. In terms of spatial distribution, the coupling coordination degree showed a positive spatial correlation, with low and low agglomeration in northeast Hebei Province and high agglomeration in central China, and the spatial distribution of most cities was random.
