Among numerous traffic accidents, those caused by drivers’ driving behavior account for the vast majority of the proportion. In the driving process, the driver’s driving behavior determines the operating state of the vehicle, and the driver’s emotions,as the driver’s feedback to the environment, often indirectly affect the driver’s driving behavior. Therefore, this thesis uses questionnaire survey to explore the relation of demographic variables, characteristics during the epidemic, personality and anxiety on driving behavior. In order to explore the driving behavior during the pandemic, this thesis designs a questionnaire on driving behavior applicable to Chinese drivers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and completes the revision of the scale. The scale is constructed through repeated translation and discussion of classic scales, and interviews with drivers with rich driving experience.A total of 620 questionnaires were collected, and 593 were effective, with an effective rate of 95.65%.After exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis and validity analysis, the questions that do not meet the requirements are deleted. Finally, four factors of driving behavior were identified, which were ordinary violation, aggressive violation, error and lapses. The questionnaire data were analyzed after the four factors were determined.Disaggregated statistical descriptive data to assess the average level of driver violations and mistakes in general;Study the differences in driving behavior of basic personal characteristics such as gender, age and driving experience;Explore the differences in driving behavior of basic characteristics such as the infection with COVID-19,isolation,nucleic acid, arrears and repayment during the epidemic;Analyze the correlation between personality and anxiety, personality and driving behavior. On this basis,a structural equation model is constructed, and the relation between anxiety, driving behavior and self-reported accidents is comprehensively analyzed. The results of the study showed that drivers scored higher for mistakes during the pandemic than for violations overall;Basic characteristics such as gender, age, driving experience, and infection with COVID-19 have significantly different driving behaviors during the epidemic;Personality is correlated with driving behavior; The established model can effectively explain the influence relationship between anxiety, driving behavior and self-reported accidents, and the anxiety significantly positively affects the four driving behaviors of ordinary violations, aggressive violations, errors and lapses,Four factors of driving behavior has a significant positive impact on the number of self-reported accidents, aggressive violations positively affects errors, and errors positively affect lapses.Among the four factors of driving behavior analyzed by descriptive statistics, lapses get the highest score, and the results of structural equation model showed that the path coefficients of lapses of the total number of self-reported accidents and classified accidents are significant.Lapses can be used as an important indicator to predict the occurrence of drivers’ driving accidents.
