As an important indicator for evaluating livable cities, the convenience of living has gradually become an important criterion for judging the quality of life of residents, and how to effectively improve the quality of life of residents has become a hot issue of concern for many disciplines at home and abroad, such as urban and rural planning, geography and sociology. In the current era of accelerated urbanisation, the main contradiction of China’s society has been transformed into the contradiction between the people’s growing need for a better life and unbalanced and insufficient development. The quality of life of the residents is gradually changing from the pursuit of material life to spiritual life,so the demand for various public service facilities is gradually diversifying, and how to enjoy more and better quality public service facilities has become a challenge for urban development. The number, scale and density of public service facilities affect the quality of life of residents and are an important part of the construction of a livable city. Therefore,in the current era of rapid development,it is particularly important to better optimise the layout of public service facilities. As a quantitative evaluation factor to measure the livability of a city and the reasonableness of the configuration of public service facilities, studies in the past have mostly focused on a single facility. However, due to the spatial differentiation of urban residents, public service facilities are unevenly and inadequately distributed among different areas within the same city, making the convenience of living vary from region to region. In this paper,we try to reveal the differences in the convenience of residents’ daily life between different areas by selecting various types of public service facilities and introducing accessibility into them.We take the streets as the basic unit for improving the convenience of residents’ daily life, study the demand of residents for public service facilities in the streets, and explore the impact of the spatial differentiation of facilities on residents’ daily life.On this basis, the aim is to improve the layout of public service facilities in urban areas, improve the quality of life of residents, and comprehensively enhance the supply capacity of public service facilities across the city, and to optimise the construction and configuration layout of public service facilities, with the expectation of providing scientific support for urban development and facility renewal, optimising the configuration and layout of public service facilities, and providing balanced services,so as to make a It is expected to make a substantial contribution to the improvement of the living standards and well-being of the residents.Zhengzhou is the capital of Henan Province, the first city of the Central Plains City Cluster and an important international city in the central region.Zhengzhou city is a key area for urban quality improvement, and the study of its residents’ convenience of daily life and the optimal layout of public service facilities can not only understand the rationality of the spatial arrangement of various facilities, but also provide a reference for decision making in the construction of a livable city in Zhengzhou. This paper adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis, using point-of-interest data as the base data for analysis, and selects seven categories of public service facilities, including daily life services, transport facilities services, financial and insurance services, sports and leisure services, medical facilities services, scientific, educational and cultural services, and scenic services,as the research objects.Based on the accessibility of public service facilities, the study assesses the convenience of living in Zhengzhou city and explores the problems that need to be improved in the construction of public service facilities in Zhengzhou city through the analysis of the influencing factors, based on which the overall optimisation strategy of public service facilities in Zhengzhou city is proposed. The main findings include:(1)The spatial distribution of various types of public service facilities in Zhengzhou city is uneven. The core gathering areas and hotspots of various facilities are all located within the third ring of the city, and the spatial density distribution of facilities has obvious spatial coupling characteristics with the city centre.(2)The accessibility of public service facilities in Zhengzhou city varies greatly under different modes of travel. There is a trend of decreasing accessibility from the city centre to the outside, while daily living facilities are those widely accessible to residents in their daily travels.(3)The level of convenience of living for residents in Zhengzhou shows significant spatial differences. The high value areas show an overall decreasing trend from the centre to the north and south, and there is a strong synergy between the high value areas and the commercial service centres.(4)The level of convenience of living and its influencing factors are mostly negatively correlated. The closer to the facilities, the higher the level of living convenience, with the distance from the metro station having the greatest impact on the level of living convenience.(5)There is much room for improvement in the configuration of public service facilities.By selecting metro stations as planning facilities to optimise the layout of the three neighbouring streets, the most efficient locations for the facilities were identified and classified into three levels in conjunction with the existing metro construction process.
