As smart home technology advances and market demand continues to rise, the online customisation experience is gradually becoming a core concern for companies. To meet the demand for customisation, many well-known companies, such as Xiaomi,Midea and Haier, have introduced convenient, personalised and intelligent online customisation features. These features help users gain a deeper understanding of smart home devices and make consumer decisions through personalised recommendations, virtual environment displays and comprehensive product introductions. However, the current smart home online customisation experience is more of a marketing tool, with the goal of quickly generating a customisation experience for users, while neglecting the experience of cognition and construction of smart homes during the customisation process, and the online virtual scene is more of a restoration of the real home environment, without meeting the perceived needs of users in the specific context of smart homes. Therefore, there is a need for in-depth research and relevant practice on the online customization experience of smart home,so as to promote its forward development.Taking the situational cognition theory as the perspective, this study firstly composes and analyses the research and development status of domestic and international situational cognition theory and smart home experience design, and analyses and summarises the current status and problems of online customisation of different smart home brands from three aspects:customisation process, online scene form and operational functional attributes through research and analysis of the cases of smart home current online customisation experience. And according to the three levels of contextual cognition combined with the customization content of smart home, the value and significance of contextual cognition theory for online customization experience is discussed.Secondly, user research on smart home online customisation experience is divided into two aspects: qualitative research and quantitative research, using questionnaire method and interview method to conduct in-depth research on users, collecting information on users’ experience purpose, behaviour, needs and pain points, etc.,constructing two types of user portraits, interactive and exploratory, based on the overall characteristics of users, and analysing and sorting out users’ online customisation experience process, drawing two types of Based on the user journey map,the user’s needs and corresponding design opportunities are summarised and analysed according to the user journey stages, and the design opportunities are clustered and integrated with contextual factors to propose design strategies for smart home online customisation experience,in order to improve the efficiency of user experience and strengthen cognitive guidance.Guided by the contextual cognitive theory and combined with in-depth research on smart home online customisation and target users, the study proposes "creating an active and participatory customisation experience with an agenda-based context","building a dynamic and linked virtual customisation space environment" and "creating a progressive and guided virtual customisation space",The three design strategies of "creating a progressively guided customization interaction" provide references for the research and practice of smart home online customization experience design.Based on the design strategy, the design practice of the online smart home customization experience APP is carried out with Xiaomi smart home as the customization content, and the design practice is carried out from three aspects: product function, interaction system and visual presentation, and the design strategy is used to provide ideas for the optimization of the online smart home customization experience.
