Study On The Cornice Decoration Of Traditional Folk Houses In Northeastern Fujian In The Late Qing Dynasty

The eaves corridor is an important part of the traditional wood building,exquisite decoration and exquisite content.It not only has the function of connecting the front yard and middle hall of the residence,but also is an important reflection of the financial resources and status of the owner of the residence.The beam frame in the eaves corridor is one of the most complicated wooden pieces in the residential buildings in northeast Fujian Province,which fully demonstrates the characteristics of regional culture and architectural art.At the same time,it is independent and complete in the structural system,which has the independence and integrity of academic research.In this study,the eaves in Fuding City,Zherong County,Shouning County and Fu ’an City in northeast Fujian Province were taken as the research object,and the eaves girder in different areas were classified,sorted out and studied by using architectural surveying and mapping and graphic analogy.In the application of field investigation,pattern analysis and multidisciplinary research methods,the natural environment,historical background,typical residential conditions and the types of eaves in the four areas of northeast Fujian were investigated.Finally,combined with the research content,the eaves girder of the four regions in northeast Fujian is analyzed and compared,and the shape,system and decorative characteristics of the four regions are further summarized.Finally,the eaves decoration under the regional culture is explored,and the cultural circles of the region are further introduced.The main research content of this paper is divided into the following parts:The first part is the introduction,which determines the background,object,scope,significance and related concepts of the research.At the same time,it summarizes the current researches on folk dwellings in Fujian,folk dwellings in northeast Fujian,culture in Fujian and Zhejiang,and artisans’ skills,and determines the research methods and routes.In the second part,the related research results of eaves and the methodology of this research are sorted out and summarized,and the specific research content is proposed according to the existing research modes and methods.The third part,basic data research,to Fuding City,Zherong County,Shouning County,Fu’an City four typical villages and residential cases.Starting with the field investigation and literature collation of the folk dwellings in the four places of northeast Fujian,the layout form and the characteristics of the eaves of the folk dwellings in the four places were summarized,which laid the foundation for the subsequent research.The fourth part analyzes the decorative characteristics of eaves girder frames in northeast Fujian,summarizes the influencing factors formed between the four places in northeast Fujian,and then analyzes the eaves shape,structure and decoration of traditional residential houses in the four places in northeast Fujian,so as to obtain the differences of decorative characteristics under blending culture and divide new cultural circles.The fifth part puts forward the research conclusion.Eaves girder decoration has unique regional style and decorative characteristics,according to these characteristics to further form the southeast Fujian sub-cultural circle.
