Research On Urban Waterfront Landscape Design From The Perspective Of Regional Culture

Urban waterfront areas are the gathering areas of urban regional culture,often witnessing the growth and development process of cities.Especially for cities built along rivers,their waterfront areas have been important areas for crowd gathering and agricultural irrigation since ancient times,containing rich cultural connotations.At present,with the development of information technology and international exchanges,coupled with the accelerated process of urban construction,the landscape construction of waterfront areas in China lacks regional characteristics and tends to converge.This article adopts literature analysis and case analysis to summarize the application methods of urban cultural elements in waterfront landscapes.Through exploring the regional culture of Wushan County,suitable cultural elements are selected,and the design techniques summarized are studied and applied to the Weihe River landscape in Wushan County for example verification,in order to enhance the uniqueness and residents’ identification of the Weihe River landscape in Wushan County,and provide reference for the cultural design of waterfront landscapes.First,this paper combs the pertinent ideas and features of regional culture,waterfront,urban waterfront scenery,and summarizes the progress of urban waterfront parks and regional culture-related theories.Through literature analysis and domestic excellent case analysis,the extraction methods of urban regional cultural elements and the design methods applied to waterfront landscape are summarized.Secondly,through literature review and theoretical research,the design techniques of waterfront landscapes are refined,including "preservation and reproduction","metaphor and symbol","abstraction and extraction","reconstruction and innovation",and "comparison and integration".Through practical case analysis,cultural waterfront landscape design techniques are summarized from aspects such as landscape streamline layout,landscape and new material application,landscape and sculpture sketches,landscape and waterfront memory reshaping,and ultimately applied to the Weihe River waterfront landscape design example in Wushan County.Finally,in the practice of landscape design along the Weihe River in Wushan County,Tianshui City,research and preliminary analysis were conducted on the current situation of the site,proposing design positioning,goals,principles,and strategies from the perspective of regional culture.Starting from the inheritance and innovation of urban culture,the design theme of folk art and culture was established,forming two major landscape segments of "river symbiosis" and "impression of Wushan" in space.At the same time,through the extraction,summarization,and analysis of cultural elements Innovate and restructure to create cultural nodes,forming node spaces rich in regional characteristics such as "hexagram fish guiding the way","bamboo weaving impression",and "inheritance corridor".Ultimately,the cultural characteristics of the design area will be highlighted in five aspects: overall layout,node design,folk activities,plant utilization,and material utilization,helping to showcase,develop,and inherit the regional culture of Wushan.I hope to provide reference for other waterfront parks in regional cultural design.
