With the deepening of the new round of technological and industrial revolution,cutting-edge digital technologies such as automation,artificial intelligence,and CNC equipment are accelerating their full penetration and integration into the construction industry,providing a new development opportunity and strong support for the highquality development of the construction industry.Although a large number of enterprises have perceived the urgency of digital development,and invested a lot of resources to promote the integration of digital technology in enterprises.However,in practice,many construction enterprises face real challenges such as vague digital concepts,unclear positioning,and unclear realization path,which hinder the digital development process of construction enterprises.How construction enterprises can get rid of the development dilemma and achieve high-quality digital development has become a hot spot of widespread concern from all walks of life.In view of this,this paper takes China’s listed construction enterprises as the research object,and studies and discusses the connotation,development level,and influencing factors of digital development of construction enterprises,in order to provide important theoretical reference for promoting high digital development of construction enterprises.Firstly,this paper defined the concept of digital development,and digital development of construction enterprises,and clarified the evaluation dimensions of the digital development level of construction enterprises based on distinguishing informatization and digitalization.Secondly,the evaluation index system of based on the digital development level of construction enterprises is constructed from four dimensions of digitalization input,platform governance and output,and the digitalization level of 43 listed construction enterprises is measured by using hierarchical analysis and CRITIC comprehensive weighting method.Then,based on TOE theoretical framework,a conditional configuration influencing factor model of digitization level of construction enterprises is constructed.Based on grounded theory,relevant literature and news reports are coded,and specific antecedent configuration of digitization level of construction enterprises is identified.Finally,based on the evaluation results,the antecedent paths leading to high digital development of construction enterprises were identified through fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fs QCA).It is found that:(1)the overall level of digitalization of construction enterprises in China is widely disparate,the development among evaluation subsystems is uncoordinated,and digitalization among subdivided industries presents different development characteristics.(2)The digital development of construction enterprises has a complex causal mechanism,and the high digital level of construction enterprises is the result of a variety of antecedent conditions acting together.(3)There are three main driving paths for high digital development grouping of construction enterprises,which can be further categorized as technology-supported market-driven,internal and external synergistic and all-factor-driven.Among them,digital technology application capability and market environment stimulation are the key factors to drive the digital development of construction enterprises.At the same time,there are overlapping paths and complementary alternative relationships among different paths,which can provide useful references for construction enterprises in different scenarios to achieve high digital development.(4)Based on the above research results,the paper puts forward suggestions on improving the digitization level of construction enterprises from the enterprise,government and industry levels respectively.
