At the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),it was proposed to effectively link the rural strategy with the achievements of poverty alleviation, and further promote the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. The country has put forward higher requirements for rural construction and development. As a typical village with distinctive local characteristics and long historical and cultural heritage, the protection and development of traditional villages should be paid more attention, but affected by the long-term process of urbanization and industrialization,Traditional villages currently face difficulties such as insufficient characteristics, lack of authenticity, and patterned development. At the same time, issues such as the protection of regional characteristics and the development direction of cultural inheritance in traditional villages,as well as the contradiction between the needs of residents and tourists during the construction of traditional villages, still require effective solutions.Based on this, this article analyzes the main issues in the current construction of traditional villages, introduces two theoretical methods, namely, landscape gene theory and subjective and objective perception theory, analyzes the relevant concepts, theoretical connotations, and application paths of the two theories, and interprets the prominent advantages of landscape gene theory and subjective and objective perception theory in guiding the practice of traditional village protection and development,Further,it proposes the feasibility and application significance of landscape gene theory and subjective and objective perception theory for the research of traditional village landscape optimization. It attempts to qualitatively analyze the current situation of traditional village landscape genes using landscape gene theory from the perspective of subjective and objective perception, and quantitatively analyze the similarities and differences between subjective and objective perception evaluations,in order to find a path for the optimal design of traditional village landscape:Firstly, using the feature deconstruction method in landscape gene theory to classify, identify, and extract traditional village landscape genes,a traditional village landscape gene recognition system is constructed.Taking Qiqiao Village in Nanjing City as an example, the practical exploration was conducted to divide the material and non material landscape genes in the traditional village landscape genes of Qiqiao Village into four categories: environmental genes, layout genes, architectural genes, and cultural genes, and further subdivided into nine categories:natural environment, cultural environment, village morphology, street space, architectural type, architectural style, historical context, settlement culture, folk customs, and landforms Landscape pattern, water system layout, green space form, settlement location, transportation location, geographical culture, overall layout, street and lane layout, road pavement, residential buildings, commercial buildings, public buildings, architectural style, plane layout, architectural structure, building materials, architectural color, architectural details, historical evolution, folklore, poetry, song and fu,dialect, clan culture, religious beliefs, business culture, customs Catering culture is divided into 28 categories, and landscape gene interpretation is conducted on the four major landscape gene characteristics of environmental genes, layout genes, architectural genes, and cultural genes to fully explore the landscape gene characteristics of Qiqiao Village.Secondly, based on the above identification system and interpretation of the connotation of landscape genes, coding and sequencing are conducted to form a landscape gene map of Qiqiao Village. Finally, the extracted and sequenced landscape genes are applied to the traditional village guest perception evaluation according to the corresponding indicator selection principles, and the guest perception evaluation questionnaire and evaluation items are designed.Perceived data are collected through a questionnaire survey.SPSS25.0 is used to conduct reliability, validity analysis, variance analysis Single factor analysis of variance, multiple comparative analysis, etc.Based on the analysis results,it is concluded that there are differences in the perception of different landscape genes between the host and guest groups, and there are differences in the perception of the same landscape gene between the host and guest groups from different backgrounds.By comparing the specific differences in the perception of the host and guest, the deficiencies and development directions of landscape optimization design in traditional villages in Qiqiao Village are determined, and strategies for landscape optimization in traditional villages in Qiqiao Village are proposed,And then guide the practical application of landscape optimization design for traditional villages in Qiqiao Village. This study ultimately proposes a practical approach to the landscape gene evaluation of traditional villages from the perspective of subjective and objective perception-using the landscape gene theory as a guide to excavate the landscape genes of traditional villages, constructing subjective and objective perception evaluation observation variables based on the results of landscape gene mapping, and comprehensively and pertinently analyzing the current situation of landscape genes in the protection and development process of traditional villages,as well as the needs and intentions of both the host and the guest,Scientifically construct strategies for optimizing and designing traditional village landscapes, providing theoretical and methodological references for solving problems such as the loss of historical and cultural heritage and homogenization construction in traditional villages.
