With the rapid development of electronic information technology in China,the pace of national construction of smart cities and smart communities has accelerated.The intelligent construction of community public service facilities,which are an important part of the community,can allocate public service resources more effectively and improve the level of community services.This is the focus of smart community construction.Through empirical research on the current intelligent initiatives and progress of community public service facilities in Beijing,this paper explores the types,characteristics,and problems of intelligent community public service facilities in the context of smart communities,taking into account the actual needs and usage of residents.Using Pingguoyuan street in Shijingshan District,Beijing as an example,the paper studies the method of intelligent empowerment of public service facilities based on the spatial distribution and usage problems of the current public service facilities.It also proposes improvement and optimization strategies of intelligent facilities.The research results provide useful references for the planning and construction of smart communities and intelligent public service facilities.The thesis is based on the research idea of "theoretical and policy review-investigation of the current situation of intelligent public service facilities-analysis and practice of case areas-proposal of improvement and optimization strategies." The paper is organized into six chapters.Chapter 1 provides a comparison of the current research background of smart communities and intelligent community public service facilities.It introduces the purpose and significance of the research,elaborates on related concepts and theories,and proposes the research content,research methods,and research framework of the thesis.In Chapter 2,the current theories,concepts,and related literature on smart communities and smart community facilities are compared,and the relevant policies and standards of smart community facilities at both national and Beijing levels are analyzed.Typical excellent practice cases are also studied.Chapter 3 conducts an empirical survey on the current status of intelligent initiatives and usage of public service facilities in Beijing.It analyzes the usage characteristics of different groups of people,their satisfaction,and demand for intelligent facilities.Chapter 4 selects Pingguoyuan Street in Shijingshan District,Beijing as a practical case study,and analyzes the types of public service facilities and intelligent facilities in the area,their spatial distribution,and the current problems.In Chapter 5,the preliminary research is synthesized,and the optimization and improvement strategies of intelligent facilities are proposed in terms of management,accessibility,and space.A demonstration design for the Pingguoyuan street is also carried out.Finally,Chapter 6summarizes the research of the thesis,elaborates the research conclusions,and provides an outlook for future research.After conducting the above-mentioned research,the thesis proposes the following conclusions: 1.Beijing is relatively advanced in terms of research and construction of smart communities and intelligent facilities compared to the rest of the world.The government’s strong policy inclination and implementation of smart community construction indicates that there are great prospects for the development of smart communities and intelligent facilities in Beijing.2.The intelligence of public service facilities can greatly improve the service level of community public service facilities and make up for the shortcomings of the existing facilities.Among all levels of public service facilities,municipal and district-level facilities have a high level of intelligence and penetration rate,while the transformation of street-level and community-level intelligent facilities still has great potential for development.3.The operation mode,service population,and service radius of intelligent facilities differ significantly from those of traditional community public service facilities.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the management level,usage level,facility adaptability level,accessibility level,and spatial design optimization to improve the quality of existing intelligent facilities.
