| Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a neurological disease caused by the death of nerve cells in the brain and is a degenerative cognitive disorder.Based on the fact that the number of elderly people with cognitive disorders continues to rise and the design of educational products for early AD patients in the market is relatively traditional, this thesis explores a kind of educational product designed by using traditional folk games as the cornerstone and using multi-sensory interaction to achieve the effect of delaying the development of early AD patients, filling the incremental demand of this category and enriching cognitive training aids. This thesis is divided into four parts: theoretical investigation, patient research and demand analysis, design principles and design strategies, and design practice. In the first stage, theoretical investigation, based on the understanding of the theoretical connotation of traditional folk games and related knowledge in the field of Alzheimer’s disease,we summarize the game forms of traditional folk games that are rich in content, interactive, widely accepted, simple to operate and highly compatible with the educational products for early AD patients through literature research method. The game forms that can meet the requirements of multi-sensory interaction are then extracted to provide a theoretical root for the design of educational products. The innovation model of INPD and KANO method was constructed to guide the subsequent content development. The second stage, patient research and demand analysis, using online questionnaire method, offline field observation method,semi-structured interview method, product demand research on patients, patients’ family members, health care workers three categories of people, using the KANO attribute calculation principle to the three categories of people proposed product demand for priority classification,so that the subsequent research can be more relevant to the real needs of patients and consumers. In the third stage, design principles and design strategies, based on the analysis in the first two stages, traditional folk games were combined with early Alzheimer’s puzzle product design, and multi-sensory interaction design was used to summarize the design principles of safety, ease of learning, functional appropriateness, and multi-sensory stimulation;emotional nostalgia therapy products, elegant aromatherapy products, social puzzle products, music therapy puzzle products,The design strategies of hierarchical visual art therapy products and emotional movement therapy products are used to enhance the product effect and provide better help for early Alzheimer patients.Fourth,we used the requirements and strategies to guide the design practice, and completed the design of checkers, interactive exercise, thinking training, and physical exercise educational products. Finally, the design evaluation of the educational products was conducted to verify the feasibility.Supported by traditional folk game theory and theories related to Alzheimer’s disease, this thesis uses product multisensory interaction design methods to break through traditional design from the emotional communication between patients and educational products to empower the products and build better treatment ideas for patients. It also provides some reference for the innovative design of educational products for early AD patients. |
