The development of electric vehicles is a necessary path for China to move from a large automotive country to a strong automotive country,and is a strategic initiative to address climate change and promote green development.After years of sustained efforts,China’s electric vehicle industry has entered a new phase of superimposed convergence and integrated development,while facing problems such as weak core technology innovation capability,quality assurance system to be improved,infrastructure construction still lagging behind,industrial ecology not yet sound,and increasing market competition.As a link between basic science and commercial applications,generic technologies can only be most useful if they are fully spilled over.Patent cooperation networks provide conditions and support for the spillover of generic technologies.Studying the impact of the characteristics of cooperation networks on the spillover of generic technologies of new energy vehicles in a multi-body collaborative innovation environment is important for actively exploring from different technology paths,improving the supply capacity of key generic technologies in the electric vehicle industry,enhancing the integration and innovation capacity of electric vehicles and related industries,forming a new industrial innovation ecology,breaking through key generic technology,enhance the basic capabilities of the industry,promote the high-quality and sustainable development of China’s electric vehicle industry,and accelerate the construction of an automotive powerhouse with important theoretical and practical significance.This paper firstly takes the relevant patent data in the electric vehicle field from1976 to 2020 in the Derwent database as the basis,and conducts an overview analysis of the total number of patent applications,technology life cycle diagrams,patent application countries and the top ten patent owners;subsequently,based on the patent data of this time span,from the basic,external and correlation characteristics of generic technologies,using k-core analysis,network centrality The generic technology patents of the electric vehicle industry were identified.Based on the identification of generic technology patents,the measurement of generic technology spillover was carried out in two dimensions,namely the width and depth of generic technology spillover.Using the patent data of 249 different patent owners in the electric vehicle field from 2013-2017 in the Derwent database,a cooperative network was constructed to investigate the impact of different relationship characteristics(network tie strength),structural characteristics(structural holes)in the cooperative network on generic technology spillover,and to examine the moderating role of firm capabilities.The results of the study show that: network tie strength and structural hole have significant positive effects on the width and depth of generic technology spillover;enterprise capability negatively regulates the positive relationship between network tie strength and the width and depth of generic technology spillover;the regulating effect of enterprise capability on the relationship between structural hole and the width and depth of generic technology spillover is not significant.Finally,based on the research results,this paper proposes to establish stable and long-lasting cooperative relationships,optimize its own network structure,discover new breakthrough points of generic technology,and establish a good generic technology platform.
