Recently,the appearance of 5G technologies brings great improvement on modern communication network,for example,it largely decreases round-trip delay and increases the network capacity.One key use case of 5G networks is vehicular communication which provides ultralow latency and high reliability vehicle communications.The vehicular communications can be divided into two parts: Vehicle to Infrastructure(V2I)and Vehicle to Vehicle(V2V)Communications.We focus on V2 I communication in this thesis,which is the key component for efficient traffic control,and able to create huge business opportunities.In the current practice,there are two major solutions for implementation of V2 I communications: 802.11p/WAVE protocol,and the LTE-V protocol.So far,none of them can meet all needs of the current V2 I communications environment.Another feasible solution is raised up to combine these two protocols into one collaborative networks.Fortunately,the rise of software defined network(SDN)adopted by 5G networks provides a positive support to the realization of V2 I communications over LTE-802.11 p collaborative networks.This thesis focuses on V2 I communications of LTE-802.11 collaborative networks,the main contributs and research contents are as following.(1)QoS characteristic research of V2 I communications via Data-Driven approach: from the beginning,we summarize the QoS(Quality of Service)characteristic of LTE and 802.11 p protocol by detailed analyse the data transmission procedure of these tow protocols.Then,after conducting extensive simulations in NS3 simulator,using data driven approach to reveal intrinsic relationship between QoS status and vehicle position,vehicle density,and proposing corresponding QoS mathematical model.(2)Smart seamless switching protocol over LTE-802.11 p collaborative networks under 5G framework: based on QoS model proposed in(1),we design a smart seamless switching protocol over LTE-802.11 p collaborative networks V2 I communications,and describe detailed procedure of how to apply the proposed protocol on 5G SDN framework.The performance of the proposed model and protocol is evaluated via system-level simulations in Chapter 5.Experimental results confirmed the efficiency of the proposed seamless network switching protocol.
