At present,under the changeable world situation,economic globalization faces new adjustment and change.The existing industrial division of labor,trade patterns and profit distribution will be rebuilt,which will inevitably lead to major changes in international logistics.In the past decade,with the continuous enhancement of China’s economic strength and international influence,China has been playing an increasingly important role in the international trade arena.The Belt and Road Initiative has become a new platform for global cooperation.As part of the Belt and Road Initiative,the China-Europe freight train has added great significance to the international land logistics.Driven by the China-Europe freight train,China will form a reasonable three-way international logistics channel by sea,land and air.After years of hard work and efforts,China’s international maritime logistics has gradually stabilized.At the same time,China should actively develop international land logistics,establish large land logistics channels,and strive to achieve unified and convenient land transportation cooperation.As a flagship land transport project of the Belt and Road Initiative,the ChinaEurope Express plays a crucial fundamental and supportive role in the exchanges between China and countries along the routes.Many scholars have drawn the conclusion that the western region of China has greatly improved the difficult and expensive predicament of foreign trade transportation.The eastern region,relying on natural environment advantage,can transport products abroad by sea.However,over-reliance on the traditional sea transportation mode has the risk of external unstable factors.As many eastern coastal cities have gradually become the starting cities of China-Europe freight trains,this paper studies whether they can improve the export quality of eastern coastal cities.In order to study the impact of China-Europe freight trains on the export quality of Chinese coastal cities,this paper adopts the differences in differences method based on the enterprise data of 282 Chinese cities.After the conclusion of significant improvement,the regional heterogeneity of each enterprise is studied again,and the impact of urban infrastructure in the east,middle and western regions on enterprises in different regions is deeply discussed and the reasons are analyzed.This paper draws the following conclusions: the China-Europe Express significantly improves the export quality of Chinese enterprises in the cities where the express starts,which accords with the basic national policy of opening to the outside world;In order to respond to the national development strategy of China-Europe Express,the initial development mode of point-to-point is upgraded to the hub-to-hub development mode,and the radiation effect of the originating cities of China-Europe Express on enterprises in neighboring cities is discussed.It is found that the hub cities can promote the export quality of enterprises in neighboring cities through the infrastructure construction of China-Europe Express.Secondly,the export quality of enterprises in the eastern coastal cities of China is also significantly improved by the ChinaEurope Express,but the export quantity is not as much improved as that of the central and western inland cities.The reasons are subsequently discussed,and it is found that the industrial structure,the degree of opening to the outside world,the degree of e-commerce development and other urban characteristics lead to this phenomenon to a certain extent.In a word,it is of great importance to continue to promote the development of China-Europe Express trains and adopt policies tailored to local conditions for cities in different regions to enrich the transportation channels of our foreign exports. |
