Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southwest of Gansu Province,is located in the Tibetan Plateau and the edge of the Some Random Place Somewhere terrain transition zone,is also the Han-tibetan,Tibetan Hui border zone.Since ancient times has been mixed ethnic groups,trade and farming and nomadic areas coexist.In the course of long-term ethnic migration and exchanges among various ethnic groups,a pattern of multi-ethnic groups has formed in Gannan Tibetan area,the unique architectural style and folk customs are fully embodied in the local residential buildings in Gannan,resulting in a rich traditional residential style.The current research on Tibetan architecture in Gannan focuses on Tibetan Buddhist architecture.Although there are studies on traditional settlements and traditional dwellings,they have not received sufficient attention from more scholars and experts,this leads to some problems in the protection and development of traditional dwellings in this area.The first chapter systematically reviews the domestic and foreign related research achievements and literature monographs on traditional dwellings and traditional settlements,and defines the multidisciplinary theory and related concepts and scope,the second chapter summarizes and analyzes the regional environment of human settlements in Gannan Tibetan area,the unique physical geography of Gannan provides sufficient resources and material conditions for the multi-ethnic and religious spread of the region;Chapters 3-6 based on the research results,the author selects the traditional settlements with typical ethnic characteristics in Gannan and their traditional dwellings for research and analysis.In this thesis,the characteristics of traditional settlements in Gannan under the influence of multi-ethnic settlement were studied from the perspectives of settlement location,settlement structure and spatial characteristics,and the mechanism of the relationship between the two was systematically analyzed,and then explore the traditional style of residential features and multi-ethnic relationship.Through on-site surveys,surveys and visits,drawings of traditional residential buildings and settlements in Gannan are drawn and relevant information is integrated.At last,the author makes a comprehensive comparative analysis of the features of the three main nationalities with a large population by combining the investigated cases with the relevant literature,to sum up the similarities and differences of traditional dwellings in Gannan under the influence of national culture.It concludes the “Eclectic,heterogeneous and symbiotic” character of Gannan’s traditional dwellings based on multi-ethnic features.Emphasis on the Gannan multi-residential mixed here,mutual acceptance between the formation of mixed and blended cultural pattern.It highlights the mixed cultural pattern of multiple dwellings in Gannan,which accept each other and form a mixed and intermingled cultural pattern.It also summarizes the non-parallel relationship of the traditional dwellings of various ethnic groups in Gannan,which co-exist,co-exist and co-evolve with each other,while there are certain differences.In this thesis,the results of previous research and field research on the basis of summary.To complement and summarize the characteristics of traditional settlements and traditional dwellings in Gannan from the perspective of multi-ethnic groups,and to improve the database of traditional dwellings in Gannan.The aim is to provide a more targeted and reasonable strategy for the conservation and development of traditional buildings in Gannan,and also to provide reference for the next step of local modern architectural design.
