In 2020,the Chinese government put forward the "dual carbon" goal,that is,to achieve carbon peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060.The main source of carbon emissions is the energy sector.According to the World Energy Statistical Yearbook 2022,by 2021,China’s carbon dioxide emissions from energy reached10.536 billion tons,an increase of 19.82% in ten years compared to 8.794 billion tons in 2011.China has entered a stage of high-quality development,and it needs to be supported by a high-quality energy system,in this context,China’s energy transformation must be valued by various industries,and it is imperative.However,the process of energy transition is affected by many factors,among which the optimization of industrial structure can promote China’s energy transformation to a certain extent.Therefore,this paper conducts research and analysis through both theoretical and empirical aspects to explore the impact of industrial structure optimization on energy transition.The first is the measurement of the level of China’s energy transition.Since there is no unified concept definition of energy transition in academia,based on the current situation of China’s energy development and China’s planning for energy transition,read relevant literature to build a comprehensive evaluation system for energy transition.The first energy white paper issued by the Chinese government in 2007 can be regarded as the beginning of our country’s energy transition,and the country attaches great importance to its development.In view of this,taking 30 provinces and cities in China as the research object,considering the impact of the new crown epidemic,the time span is set for2008-2019,and the energy transition of different provinces in China is measured.Secondly,the transmission mechanism of industrial structure and energy transformation and development is sorted out from the theoretical aspect,and the industrial structure optimization is divided into two aspects: industrial structure rationalization and industrial structure advanced,consult a large number of literature,sort out the relevant industrial structure rationalization and advanced measurement methods,and select the calculation method suitable for this paper to measure the industrial structure optimization level of 30 provinces(cities)in China.Then,the two-way fixed-effect model was used to conduct regression analysis to verify the impact of industrial structure on China’s energy transition,and finally robustness test and heterogeneity analysis were carried out.The return results and main conclusions are obtained,and appropriate suggestions and measures are put forward according to the existing problems of China’s industrial structure and energy transition.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Based on the current situation of China’s energy development,combined with relevant literature,construct a comprehensive evaluation index of energy transition,use the entropy value method to measure the comprehensive index of energy transition in 30 provinces and cities in China,and analyze the overall trend of energy transition in each province,especially in terms of energy consumption,the energy consumption structure is gradually low-carbon and clean;(2)From the national and regional levels,the impact of industrial structure on energy transition is studied,and the empirical results show that industrial structure optimization has obvious positive promotion effect on energy transformation,and the effect is very significant,especially for the eastern and western regions,the rationalization of industrial structure can promote regional energy transformation,especially for the improvement of energy transition level in the western region,while promoting the rationalization of industrial structure.It is also necessary to pay more attention to increasing the proportion of output value of the tertiary industry and actively promote the adjustment of the industrial structure.Based on the above conclusions,this paper believes that to promote China’s energy transformation,it is necessary to improve the energy consumption structure,increase the proportion of clean energy use,and have environmental awareness,especially the optimization of industrial structure is of great significance for energy transition.
