Study On The Spatial Structure Measurement Of Twin-City Economic Circle In Chengdu-Chongqing Region And Its Economic Growth Effect

In the context of the three new and one high times,Chengdu-chongqing area twin city economic circle is the most densely populated region in the west,with the strongest industrial foundation,the strongest innovation capacity,the broadest market scope,and the highest degree of openness,has great strategic significance for the economic development and spatial structure layout of the western region and even the whole country.At the present stage,the construction of the twin-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing region is generally positive,but there are still problems such as large development differences,obvious internal fault characteristics,the convergence of industrial structure,and serious homogeneous competition in the construction process.Optimizing the spatial structure is expected to be a feasible path to improve the existing problems in the construction of the twin-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.In view of this,this paper focuses on the twin-city economic circle of the Chengdu-Chongqing region,specifically analyzes the spatial structure characteristics of the five economic regions of Chengdu Plain Economic Zone,South Sichuan Economic Zone,Northeast Sichuan Economic Zone,Chongqing Main City Metropolitan Area and Northeast Chongqing Three Gorges Reservoir Town Cluster in terms of morphological and functional dimensions,and uses the data of Chengdu-Chongqing region from 2007 to 2020 to verify them,in order to explore the economic growth effect of the spatial structure of the twin-city economic circle of Chengdu-Chongqing region,which has certain theoretical significance and practical reference value.It is found that:(1)from the results of spatial structure measurement,Chongqing main city metropolitan area and Chengdu plain economic zone both show obvious monocentric structure in morphological and functional dimensions;Sichuan south and northeast Sichuan economic zone show polycentric structure in morphological and functional dimensions;northeast Chongqing Three Gorges reservoir area urban cluster shows polycentric population spatial structure and concentrated distribution of industrial spatial structure in morphological dimension,and In the functional dimension,there is a trend of transformation from monocentric to polycentric.(2)The more the spatial structure of the population and the functional dimension of Chengdu-chongqing area twin city economic circle tends to be monocentric,the more concentrated the distribution of industries is,the more favorable the economic growth of the area is,and the conclusion of this study is robust.(3)In terms of urban scale,the monocentric population structure and the concentrated distribution of industrial spatial structure in high urban scale areas have a significant inhibitory effect on regional economic growth,while the monocentric spatial structure of functional dimension does not have a significant inhibitory effect on regional economic growth.Thus,the following policy recommendations are proposed:(1)actively guide the development of a single center in the morphological dimension,and give full play to the leading role of the central city.(2)Actively guide the development of a single center in the function dimension,and enhance the functional connection between the central city and the surrounding area.(3)Reasonably control the scale of cities in the region and actively cultivate small and medium-sized cities.
