| With the rapid application of digital technology in various industries,the digital economy has become a new driving force for industrial transformation and upgrading,as well as improving the quality and efficiency of economic development;Construction enterprises and engineering project teams are also actively or passively improving their digital capabilities to adapt to the reform and transformation of the economic system.In the construction industry,engineering projects are the starting point for their implementation,and their success is directly related to the sustainable development of the industry.Engineering projects require teams at various stages to specifically operate and implement them to achieve the expected results or effects of the project.The engineering project team is the specific implementation force in the construction enterprise.Their digitization level determines the digitization level of construction engineering,reflecting the level of digitization in the construction industry.Based on the analysis of the background of digital transformation in the construction industry and the current situation of industry digitization,and based on organizational change theory,and dynamic capability theory,this study focuses on the digital capabilities of engineering project teams,and studies the antecedents of digital capabilities and their impact on performance.First of all,this study uses the literature research method to explore the connotation and dimensions of digital capabilities of engineering project teams,starting with related concepts of digitization.Digital capabilities are divided into digital perception capabilities,digital interconnection capabilities,and digital analysis capabilities.Secondly,by analyzing existing theories and further focusing on the antecedents of digital capabilities,the impact of digital infrastructure,team culture,and organizational support(emotional support and instrumental support)on digital capabilities is identified.Thirdly,through analysis of existing theories,digital performance is divided into project performance and innovation performance(model innovation,service innovation),and the impact of digital capabilities on performance is identified.Finally,through questionnaire surveys and empirical research,the relationship between digital influencing factors,digital capabilities,and performance is explored.The empirical results show that:(1)Digital infrastructure and instrumental support have a significant impact on the improvement of digital capabilities;The impact of team culture and emotional support on digital capabilities is not significant;(2)Digital capabilities have a positive impact on project performance,model innovation,and service innovation.Through theoretical analysis,empirical research,and case analysis,this study explains the factors that affect the digital capabilities of engineering project teams and their impact on performance,filling the gaps in theoretical and empirical research on the relationship between digital capabilities and performance of engineering project teams.The research in this article can help engineering project teams provide guidance on how to improve their digital capabilities based on their actual situation,and also provide better theoretical support for teams that are implementing or planning to implement digital capability improvement. |
