Research On The Renewal Strategy Of The Exterior Space Of The Steel Industry Heritage Factory Based On Place Memory

In recent years,the upgrading of backward and idle industrial land has gradually kicked off regional regeneration,spatial development intensity has increased,many industrial heritage is facing demolition and redevelopment,and urban memory is facing interruption and loss.As a continuous and progressive transformation,urban renewal requires both the preservation and inheritance of the city’s excellent culture and the creation of new cultural spaces to stimulate urban vitality,and it is especially important to coordinate the relationship between preservation and development,inheritance and innovation.The iron and steel industrial heritage has high reuse value,and its external space is an important space to show the iron and steel cultural heritage,the cultural spirit of the times and the regional cultural lineage,and plays an important role in perpetuating the memory of the place.The iron and steel industrial heritage is a product of urban development and the change of times,and plays a fundamental role in the development of national economy and national defense construction,and is an important historical witness to the development process of human industrial civilization.In terms of spatial characteristics,the iron and steel industrial heritage has a strong old industrial style,and its scale and volume are larger than those of other industrial plants,which is a typical embodiment of the inner logic of industrial production.From the emotional point of view,the iron and steel industrial heritage is an important spiritual carrier for a generation of people to struggle,grow up together and share the glory,and is an emotional belonging of many workers’ families and residents around.This paper takes the iron and steel industrial heritage as the research object,and studies the renewal strategy of its external space,from the perspective of place memory,through literature research,case study,survey research,oral history research,induction and summary methods,conducts relevant theoretical research,summarizes the current situation of iron and steel industrial heritage research and practice at home and abroad,analyzes the external space place memory of iron and steel industrial heritage,explores the external space of iron and steel industrial heritage The design strategy for the renewal of the exterior space of the iron and steel industrial heritage is discussed,and how to create post-industrial scenes from "surface" space,"line" space and "point" space.Finally,an experimental study is conducted with the example of the old steel mill in Shaanxi Province.Chapter 1 is the introduction.The background of the thesis and the source of the topic are explained,the research object and related concepts are defined,the main research content,research purpose and research significance are clarified,the research method is proposed,and the research framework is organized.Chapter 2 is the basic research and case study.It summarizes the current status of research on memory of place,the progress of steel industrial heritage conservation and utilization at home and abroad,as well as the review of field research on domestic renewal and renovation projects,and discusses the factors that can be optimized in current practice,so as to prepare and support the following research.The third chapter is an analysis of the external spatial place memory of the iron and steel industrial heritage.This chapter constructs the correlation between place memory and the external space of iron and steel industrial heritage,conducts a basic research on the place memory of iron and steel industrial heritage,statistically analyzes people’s perception of the place memory of the external space of iron and steel industrial heritage,summarizes the renewal and utilization patterns of the external space of iron and steel industrial heritage,and proposes the basic types of the external space of iron and steel industrial heritage,so as to promote the construction of renewal strategies.Chapter 4 is the construction of the renewal strategy based on the place memory of the external space of the iron and steel industrial heritage.The general principles of the renewal design strategy are proposed,and the renewal strategy is established at three levels: "surface" spatial renewal strategy,"line" spatial renewal strategy,and "point" spatial renewal strategy.The design strategy for the renewal of the external space of the iron and steel industrial heritage will promote the continuity of urban memory and the sustainable development of urban renewal.Chapter 5 presents the design practice of the old steel mill in Shaanxi.It introduces the project overview,extracts and analyzes the external spatial memory of Shaanxi old steel mill,and proposes the design strategy for the renewal of the external space of Shaanxi old steel mill.
