| Qionghua island is a representative work of Chinese royal gardens.It is an outstanding representative of rockery making skills in northern royal gardens,and has important historical and artistic value.The research on the rockery group in the northern part of Qionghua island has the practical necessity to guide the next step of the rockery renovation project.The further understanding of this masterpiece of Chinese royal gardens will advance the research on the imagery and techniques of rockery making in the royal gardens of the Qing Dynasty.This paper studies the northern rockery of Qionghua island from two aspects: history and current situation.In terms of history,it analyzes the historical changes based on historical data such as construction records and Qing palace paintings.It is found that the northern rockery were mainly formed during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty,and well preserved the style of rockery of the Qianlong Dynasty.Although there have been some changes since modern times,the overall rockery style of the Qianlong Dynasty has not been greatly affected.The current research starts with the technique of rockery,combined with the traditional garden construction theory and the case of rockery in royal gardens in the same period..It explores the techniques of rockery in the northern part of Qionghua island from overall engineering characteristics to specific stacking techniques.In the overall project of the northern part of Qionghua island,the original earthy hillside terrain was transformed into the current four-layered rocky hill platform by using the method of layered rockery making.In terms of concrete stacking techniques,"stacking clouds" is adopted for the rockery for landscaping.The most basic "cloud head" unit structure of rockery in the royal gardens of Qing Dynasty is contained under different structure combination.The rockery for functionality mainly adopt the "floating clouds" stacking technique.For the evaluation of the current situation,an evaluation system has been established to evaluate the rockery from four aspects: disturbance,safety,functionality and landscape effect.In general,the northern area with Yilan Hall as the core and the western area with Yuegu Building as the core have the most serious problems.The current situation of the eastern area is relatively good,and there are fewer problems. |
