Affected by the melting of polar sea ice,the polar route connecting Asia,Europe and North America has gradually been developed and utilized.As important equipment for exploration and development in polar regions,the shape and profile of icebreakers will affect the size of ice resistance when ships collide with ice.The ice breaking capacity is directly related to the ice resistance,which determines the capacity of icebreakers.As the third generation polar icebreaker in China,the Snow Dragon departed from Shanghai Port to the Arctic on its route,with the vast majority of the area passing through open water,accounting for over 90% of the total navigation time.Therefore,optimization design based on open water resistance is also extremely important.Due to the complexity of the ship type resistance optimization design process,traditional ship optimization design methods are not fast and intelligent enough.Therefore,analysis and research have been conducted on the coordination optimization of open water and ice breaking resistance based on ice breakers.For the Snow Dragon polar ice breaker,a parameterized hull line method was used to parameterize and deform the existing ship form.Different hull form deformation parameters were selected for the two optimization objectives of open water resistance and ice breaking resistance to enhance the pertinence of the optimization.For parameterized modeling of ice breakers,a resistance numerical simulation based on the Reynolds average method,an improved Lindqvist empirical formula for ice breaking resistance,and a combination of machine learning methods are used to establish a corresponding prediction model to construct an optimization design framework.Based on this framework,ship type optimization work is carried out to obtain improved open water resistance and ice breaking resistance.Analyze the optimized ship form using different optimization parameters to provide corresponding references or suggestions for performance optimized ship selection.At the same time,software overlap enriches the optimization samples and simplifies the optimization process.The optimized ship form obtained based on this ship form optimization method has improved its open water and ice breaking resistance performance to varying degrees compared to the original ship form.The optimized ship form with improved resistance performance has a maximum reduction of 0.9% in open water resistance and 3.1% in ice breaking resistance,reflecting the feasibility of this optimization method for optimizing the design of ice breaking ship forms,The optimization system can also optimize other objectives based on different ship types by changing the set variables,providing a systematic optimization process for multi-objective optimization of ship types.
