| As urbanization advances, industrial heritage resources have gained increasin g significance, encompassing not only historical and cultural value but also sust ainable utilization and artistic merit. However, the urban development and indust rial restructuring have resulted in the abandonment and disuse of numerous indu strial structures.Effectively addressing and integrating the utilization of these in dustrial heritage resources to sustain urban continuity have emerged as pressing challenges in contemporary urban development and construction, particularly in t he pursuit of the "dual carbon"strategy. This research paper examines the background of industrial heritage transfor mation and reuse from the perspective of industrial heritage reuse. It employs r esearch methodologies such as literature review, field investigations, and case st udies, focusing on the transformation and reuse of industrial heritage buildings i n China for interior design studios. The study classifies industrial heritage based on industrial production sectors, architectural structures and functions, and usag e characteristics, providing a scientific basis for its rational planning, preservatio n,and reuse.Through theoretical research on the protection and inheritance of i ndustrial heritage,it summarizes the three aspects of its reuse value:sustainable utilization, historical and cultural significance, and artistic aesthetics, which con tribute to the promotion of sustainable urban and social development.By analyz ing domestic and international cases of industrial heritage transformation and reu se,it proposes three design principles for industrial heritage reuse:respecting hi storical context, optimizing spatial integration, and ensuring environmental sustai nability. It identifies two reshaping models for industrial heritage reuse:the "org anic integration and comprehensive renewal model with multiple industries" and the "people-oriented clustering and revitalization model." Based on these design principles and models, the paper presents five design methods for the transform ation and reuse of industrial heritage in the interior design studio, encompassing"internal space regeneration, optimization of the external environment, reuse of architectural interfaces and textures, incorporation of unique elements, and recy cling of old materials" to achieve the reconstruction and revitalization of industr ial heritage. In the context of the transformation and reuse of industrial heritage, this st udy focuses on the case of the interior design studio utilizing the renovated pro duction workshop of Changsha Zinc Plant. The research conducts preliminary in vestigations through site analysis, user needs analysis,SWOT analysis, and other methods. It examines how to achieve the reproduction of historical and cultural values, the revitalization of industrial heritage sites, and the harmonious coexist ence with the urban sustainable development process in the transformation and r euse of industrial heritage buildings. |
