Research On The Impact Of Intellectual Property Rights On Economic Benefits Of Energy Storage Enterprises

Energy storage play a significant rule in large-scale application of clean energy and promote achieve the carbon-neutral goal.This paper studies how economic benefit of Energy storage enterprises is affected by its patenting activity.Firstly,the principles,advantages,disadvantages,application scenarios,key technologies and development directions of the current mature electrochemical energy storage,physical energy storage,thermal energy storage and hydrogen energy storage have been summarized.The signal performance of patent influence on economic benefit has been studied based on the Asymmetric Information Theory and the Signaling Theory.The education background of chairman was introduced as instrumental variable to account for the potential endogeneity problems.Using patent data and economic benefit data of Chinese listed firms from 2019 to 2021,it has been found that patenting activity strongly predicts economic benefit.The patent is more sensitive to private enterprises than state-owned enterprises,and is more pronounced for electrochemical energy storage enterprises than physical energy storage enterprises.The plan of energy storage enterprises and the government policy may be supported by the research.
