As a fast,environmentally friendly,and efficient mode of transportation,urban rail transit has gradually become an important part of the urban transportation system with the acceleration of urbanization and the improvement of people’s living standards.Designing a reasonable train operation plan is crucial to reducing the operating costs of urban rail transit and improving its operational efficiency.Since the reform and opening up,many scholars have conducted extensive research on train operation plans for urban rail transit,aiming to find the optimal plan that can lower operating costs,improve operational efficiency,ease urban traffic congestion,improve the city’s transportation status,and enhance people’s travel experience.At the same time,as urban rail transit continues to expand and upgrade,research on train operation plans also has significant theoretical and practical reference value,providing support and protection for the development of urban rail transit.This paper summarizes the factors affecting train operation plans and establishes an optimization model for train operation plans under different operation modes at different times based on the characteristics of urban rail transit operation and train running.The paper analyzes the advantages and feasibility of the model through case studies.The main content and conclusions are:(1)The background and significance of optimizing train operation plans for urban rail transit were explained.Based on existing literature at home and abroad,the types of train formation,route classification,and stoppage classification for urban rail transit were analyzed,as well as their respective advantages,disadvantages,and influencing factors.Research and practice have proved that multi-formation,size-circuit,and fast-slow train modes of operation plans can improve the operational capacity,operational efficiency,and service level of urban rail transit.(2)On the basis of considering the factors of passengers,driving conditions,and power resources,an optimization model for train operation plans under size-circuits conditions was established,with the aim of minimizing the sum of passenger travel cost and enterprise operating cost.The paper analyzed the key technologies and influencing factors that restrict train operation plans for urban rail transit.When formulating train operation plans,factors such as route feasibility,section flow,time and space distribution characteristics need to be considered to determine the frequency of departures,number of train formations,stoppage stations,and circuit positions by analyzing passenger flow changes,line driving conditions,and facilities and equipment.Finally,a scientific and reasonable train operation plan for urban rail transit was formulated by considering passenger waiting time,train stoppage time,train operating cost,and enterprise operating cost,thereby achieving the optimal match between passenger travel costs and enterprise operating costs to improve the service level of urban rail transit.(3)The paper analyzed and compared several algorithms and designed a particle swarm algorithm for solving train operation plans for urban rail transit,and introduced its principle and solution process.(4)Taking Guangzhou Metro Line 2 as the case study object,the paper analyzed its passenger flow characteristics and the boarding and alighting volume of each station,solved the model and designed algorithm,and found that the optimized operation plan can meet the passenger demand at different times while reducing passenger travel costs and enterprise operating costs,achieving a better target value.In summary,on the basis of comprehensively considering train circuits,formations,and stopping stations,this paper establishes an optimization model for train operation plans under size-circuits conditions using different operation modes at different times,achieving the optimal match between passenger travel costs and enterprise operating costs.The advantages and feasibility of the model were demonstrated through case studies,proving that establishing a scientific and reasonable train operation plan can reduce train operating costs,improve operational efficiency,alleviate urban traffic congestion,enhance the city’s transportation status,and enhance people’s travel experience.Additionally,research on train operation plans for urban rail transit has significant theoretical and practical reference value for the continuously expanding and upgrading urban rail transit,providing support and protection for its development.
