With the construction of urban rail transit in our country and advancement of the train control technology, especially the application of the Communication Based Train Control technology, the train Block system was changed from Fixed Block to Moving Block, so the train tracking intervals were greatly reduced and the operational efficiency and the capacity of the rail transportation system was highly improved. Because of the urban rail transit is pure passenger transport and passenger behavior will largely affect the normal running of the train, so faced with the passenger behavior and other factors which led to the delays of train running, the train operation control system must ensure the safety of train operation on one hand, and the other hand it must minimize the effect of train delays on passenger travels and guarantee the train running punctuality as much as possible.The Train Operation Adjustment system is one of the core systems of Automatic Train Supervision system. Train Operation Adjustment System can adjust the train orders and running time according to the online train real-time running information. Experts and scholars at home and abroad have made a lot of studies on train operation adjustment, and some of the studies have put into practical applications. But as the urban rail trains running interval was greatly reduced, the difficulties of train operation adjustment were further increased, so it is always meaningful to do research on urban rail train operation adjustment.Firstly, the train delay situations and factors are discussed and analyzed in this paper. The train operation adjustment data sources, adjustment aims, adjustment process and adjustment strategies are also elaborated at the same time, then the train delays evaluation qualitative indicators and quantitative indicators are introduced. Secondly, mathematical adjustment model is established by the analysis of the characteristics and constraints of urban rail trains’ operation. Train operation adjustment is such a problem that the actual operation diagram approaches to the planned operation diagram. Based on this model, three adjustment methods are adopted in this paper:time adjustment, interval adjustment, timetable offset adjustment. Time adjustment is the basic and efficient adjustment mode. Time adjustment gets the adjustment results by using the Particle Swarm Optimization to solve the adjustment model and it is for general train delays. Interval adjustment and timetable offset adjustment are human involved adjustment and they are suitable for serious train delays. In this paper train operation adjustment model is established by Chengdu Metro Line1first-stage project trains organization data as background. Then the model is simulated and verified. At last, the model and the method is confirmed to be suitable for the urban rail transit train operation adjustment by the simulation results.
